FUGLY, this game sucks so far. Will either team crack 30 before halftime?

This reminds me of last nights game for UC, just hang around, don't give up too many points and have a chance for a 2nd half to win it. WV is not scoring, if they can break 60 UC probably loses.

I typically dislike Big East basketball. A bunch of physical freaks who lack refined basketball skills.

33-27 13:23 to go in the 2nd half.

Big East fever...catch it!

It's just absolutly ugly! UC hangs around makes a run and then goes cold. It's literally putting my to sleep. Forget sleeping pills Dr's just should hand out Big East tapes and that'll put you right out.

I don't know if UC has played more than 1 or 2 good halves of basketball in this tourney and they may be 3-0.

Their free throw suckiness has to come back to bite them eventually, right?

I'm rooting for them at this point, let's get that RPI into the top 50, UC.

What year was it that UC dribbled a basketball off their foot out of bounds and gave the win to XU?????

And did Cronin really put #3 in just for that play, had he been on the bench to whole game?

I think you mean:

Dion Dixon, meet Charles Williams.

Charles, Dion.

I feel bad for the players. I really do. What an awful way to lose: a 3 pt buzzer shot off a turnover. Kind of satisfying to see Mick suck it though. Wonder which team he's going to whine about getting in while UC plays in the NIT.

What will Cronin complain about after this one?

Odds:
Refs: 2-1
Yancy Gates: 3-1
_________ wouldn't win the A-10: 5-1
Nothing: 500-1

Wasn't it Williams who dribbled the ball off his foot when X beat the then #1 UC?

That is just a brutal, brutal way to lose a game. No less end your tourney chances.

The best part is, UCs performance in the BE tourney will give their fans hope for next year. But the fact remains, they still have Cronin as head coach.

I hate to say it but I feel bad for Dixon. Stephenson just played his way into the NBA.

Charles Williams in 1996? Leading to Lenny's shot? That's my recollection.

Man that ending made my night. Time for a late night beer.

What do Deonta Vaughn, Brian Roberts, and I have in common? None of us played in the NCAA tournament.

That's the one,,,,, deja vu all over again.

Cronin is pathetic, just watch the guy, he's paranoid schitzo, demeaning to his players, looks like a little napolean that has no clue. Long live the Cronin era!!!!

Nope, Thor. What it will do is allow "Born Ready" to show off some more in the NIT. Then he will be convinced to go pro leaving YTG to rebuild again with Lazy Nancy and Burlap Wright.

I think that the ending was great. Just when Borecat fans are starting to believe, BANK.
OVER!!!

Devastating.:p

is Stephenson really not going pro? I don't buy it. If he has the opportunity (which I think he does) he'll jump.

I'm with you..He was a man among boys at times in this tourney...I bet his stock soars after these last 3 games. Still has no consistent J, but he was doing everything else and basically willing UC to win.

Stephenson said Butler called Bank during the shot

I was there. I hate to admit I actually paid $25 to see it. But it was somewhat fun. YMG was consistently 5 feet out on the floor with happy leprechaun feet. UC could have and perhaps should have won this game. Semi lucky shot at the end but damn Mick is bad.

Plane lands tomorrow at 4. Skipping some unimportant meetings for the real important date at 6:30. Go Muskies. POUND EM!

If so I will have to tip my cap to Butler for having a high basketball IQ!! Smart play to put a little extra on the shot and increase the chance of the ball banking/rattling in rather then leaving it short where you have almost no chance of it dropping!

I also felt bad for Dixon. Kid looked just inconsolable during the timeout before WVU's game-winner, and even worse when it was all over.

And did you see any UC teammates over to console him or give him a slap on the ass after the mistake? No.

Count me in the camp who feels awful for Dixon. Even though they are UC, that was painful to see as a fan of basketball. What a horrible way to lose. Dixon was crushed, and I just felt awful for him.

Also, Lance is legit. That guy can play and, other than the lack of a real jump shot, has impressed me. He too has steel balls, hitting that huge three to tie the game (even though he is a 20% shooter) and his multiple end-game heroics. Here's to hoping he doesn't return next year!

P.S. If Butler called bank, that is quite impressive.

I agree. There's something unfamiliar about the culture of that team. It's like they're not playing for each other, or that they are but quietly. I can't figure them out. It's Mick's tone, I think. Poor me, poor us, heavy, burdensome lifting all the live long day. When does this team have fun??? Perhaps they don't like / trust each other. I think Mick comes off as too "street", too "every man for himself".

That said, I wonder if Holloway could've helped UC last night? Naaaah.

Why YTG didn't switch to the LeBron offense with about five minutes left I have no idea. Stephenson got to the rim every time they passed him the ball and cleared out.

Oh wait, I have an idea. YTG is a moron.

Hell, for you young whippersnappers....

...Even as crappy a coach as George Krajack could figure that out.

After going through a year and screwing it up with two future NBA players on Xavier's roster in 1967-1968, Bob "Cobra" Quick and Luther Rackley, Krajcak finally just went to what was legendarily known as the "Cobra Offense" in the last two games of the season against Marquette and SucKS. Result? 2 upsets.

Basically it was just throw Bob Quick the ball and get the hell out of his way. He scored over 40 in back to back games. Maybe the best consecutive game performance in XU history. I was at that SucKS game. Just an incredible performance only rivaled in my memory by DWest's 47 against the dump- but Cobra did it twice in a row.

YTG is an idiot, but I'm glad that the Borecats did what they did. Stephenson will now leave and Sippin' Mick will be back.

I left the tv on fox sports after our Muskies just finished sending Dayton to the NIT, and the Mick Cronin show comes on. Apparently the refs took Nancy out of the game by calling phantom fouls, and then in the second half West Virginia was allowed to use "two arm shivers to the back" to get on the glass.

I am pretty sure that was an "episode" right after their regular season game against WVU. However, it was quite funny watching Mick make excuse after excuse.

Yeah after the next break he started talking about the 'Nova game...and complaining about it's tough when they're calling fouls "out near mid-court".

I would like see Mick get put in his place by a reporter one of these days on his whining and excuses. I respected the ability of Huggins to coach but Mick...no way.
