Charlie Creme seems to have set his mind on X being moved out west, and along with that move they fit into the #2 spot.
With that, I have to agree, it's either a 2 out west or midwest. OR,,, if they were to move closer home say in the east (Dayton) or southeast (memphis) bracket they'd move down to a 3 or 4. Creme's prediction at this point is usually a pretty good bet, he's generally very close to spot on.
I don't think it's valid to debate who they play in the bracket, once a prediction gets beyond the top 4 it's all a wild ass guess as to who will end up where. That's the subjective part of the commitees job, kind of like 52 card pickup, only with 48 cards.

Anyway, here's the bracket

Creme posted an update (http://espn.go.com/ncw/bracketology) on 03/13/10 02:45 AM ET, but I don't think there were any changes for X. He previously had X in Stanford's bracket, correct? That's what he has now.

I'm guessing there's no chance the Cincinnati pod switches places with the Notre Dame pod? And if given the choice, would X prefer to be in Nebraska's or Stanford's bracket so they didn't have so far to travel? Kansas City is a lot closer to home than Sacramento.

I know jack squat about Womens basketball and how they run their brackets, but can they actually put Xavier at Xavier for the first round game?

I mean, that just seems to be so wholly unfair to me.

The host team gets to play at home no matter what seed (assuming they make the tourney) they are in order to boost attendance. I believe Michigan State had a huge benefit last year being the 9 seed playing the 1 seed duke in East Lansing

Xavier moves back down to the 3 seed line with Texas A&M moving up to a 2 after winning the Big 12 tournament. Xavier is in the same bracket as UConn and Ohio State. Tough stuff!

Not a good development, especially considering that A&M hung the first L on Nebraska this season.

It would certainly be an entertaining matchup in Dayton if that came to fruition, but it would be tantamount to 2 possible road games up there. Not good.

Honestly can not see that happening, there are too many teams from the east and midwest, if you're a non "power" conference like XU you are bound to be moved west or midwest. The committee would never give us the possibility ot playing in our backyward after getting home games for the first 2 rounds.

though a match with Long Island (saw them play this afternoon) and then UCLA would be nice.

Well Long Island lost that game today to St. Francis (PA) so Xavier will not be playing them, but UCLA is still a possibility.
