Finally, the major conference tournaments get started. USF is looking a bit shaky after taking a 19 point lead against DePaul. The Blue Demons have cut it to 6 with a lot of time to play.
The Bearcats are somehow 8 point favorites in the nightcap against Rutgers.

I'll be there for the night session tomorrow, possible Cinci Louisville matchup. Not terribly excited to see ND but the tix were free and it'll be fun to root against them. Realy hope SJU takes out Uconn today. 5 in 5 Johnnies!

Odds Syracuse Wins BE Tournament: 3-1
Odds ESPN doesn't go ten minutes of programming without pimping the BE Tourney: 1-2
Depaul was disappointed they didn't draw UC.

UConn/SJU should be a good one. UConn HAS to have a win.

Wow, Connecticut very clearly just didn't care about winning this game. I recognize that they were probably never that good to begin with, but they looked HORRIBLE today.

UCONN is bad
There is no way they should be a tournament team. Their record is terrible but that is besides the point. They have big time problems scoring in the half court, they are a poor foul shooting team, and they also commit way too many turnovers. This is one of the only times I have watched them play this year and to say I am unimpressed would be a HUGE understatement

One less Big East bid is a good thing!
Need Georgetown to eliminate USF tomorrow. Providence ending Seton Hall's hopes tonight would be nice as well, but I don't see it.

And the headline on ESPN.com...Uconn's tourney hopes MAY have been dashed.
Seriously, MAY have been? Like there is some lingering doubt. Figured MOR could start a B-ESPN rant right about now.

Of all of Championship Week we have threads for Wofford, Gonzaga, and the Big East (so far). Wofford we evidently play next year, so that is more than understandable. Otherwise it appears we have the same hard-on for he Zags and the BE that ESPN does. I expect to have some sort of thread for the Wright St/Butler game. But in reality, most of the time we're just feeding the machine. Where was the thread for the Siena/Fairfield game last night (which was a great game by the way)? Or the MVC this weekend? We're a bunch of sheep. Self-depreciating sheep.

Did you guys here the three stooges pumping UC's chances? They said all UC needs to do is beat Rutgers, Louisville and West Virginia and they will be in. OK. They might as well put lab rats in those chairs.

See?
Now that UCon has been proven to be as bad as they really are, right away, SucKS is now immediately a "Bubble Team" by B-Espn. On the stream below the picture the message is "Bubble Teams Cincinnati and Seton Hall play tonight on ESPN." Add to that what XJ says above. What?
No where, anywhere, except for B-Espn are the Hall and the Borecats "bubble teams". The brainwashed heads on that network are determined to pump 8 teams in the Dance. Won't happen.
I'll give them 7, no more.

I started the Gonzaga and Big East threads, but I can tell you that I have seen more Summit League, Sun Belt, OVC and CAA basketball in the last week than I have seen Big East and WCC (Gonzaga) combined.

This seems to make UC's two wins over UCONN pretty insignificant if they ever were.

Even though their noncon was crappy, you may have to add Notre Dame to the mix and make it an even 8 along with Syracuse, West Virginia, Villanova, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Marquette and Louisville.
My best advice to you - shut up.

They did indeed. And that arguably could have been a four-point play for Rutgers.

I wonder if Gnome will note in his future bitchfests that the refs blatantly handed his team a game.

Talk about the biggest overreaction in sports to beating a team rated 151 in the rpi, who is now 13-17 on the year, 5-14 in the Big East and who will not make the CBI. That is what Lance is doing today on is blog. UC now has 10 of their 17 wins against teams rated 150 or higher in the RPI. No media idiots will ever tell you that but they will tell you they have played a top 15 schedule. Lance wants people to give Mick credit for beating Rutgers without Bishop. Solid.

Bob Huggins is such a slob that he cannot manage to put on a coat and tie.
He is wearing the same warm-up suit from yesterday that probably reeks of booze and Scores.

Great finish in the Big East. I'm just glad that dumb ass from Georgetown's foul because he didn't know it was tied didn't cost them the game.
After watching most of the Big East tourney, West Virginia is the only team that I would be pretty scared about in a matchup at a neutral floor against X. I believe their starting lineup consists of Wellington Smith (6'7'' 245), Da'sean Butler (6'7'' 230), Darryl Bryant (6'2'' 200), Devin Ebanks (6'9'' 215) and Kevin Jones (6'8'' 215). It seems like that lineup is big and athletic, though I feel like Xavier would give them a run for their money.

We were supposed to get railroaded by Thuggy in 2008 too with Alexander and his ilk. Didn't happen. Even the Cryers knocked his fat a$$ out last year.
Just like the dump. Xavier owns them...and also BeelzeBob.

They commented a lot that the refs weren't protecting the shooters. That is fairly common in the Big East. The BE teams play like that in the NCAA as well. If the refs protect the shooters, as they should, then the BE team will struggle. If they let the BE teams manhandle the opponents, the opponent rarely has a chance.

Yeah, that is really common in the Big East. Officiating in general in the Big East (and NCAA) altogether are atrocious. The problem is in the NCAA tournament they tend to be too lax on hand-checks, and moving screens, ect. and a lot of the time they let smaller schools beat up on bigger guys from the big schools (as was evident with Griffin a lot during last year's tournaments). Really what winds up happening in a lot of the upsets is that the less athletic and less skilled teams are able to pull of the upsets are exactly that, refs allowing post guys to get manhandled by inferior competition.
