So will Dayton pack the house tonight?

After the expectations they had going into this season, It would be hard for me to show up for an A10 "play in" home game

However, these are the same fans that pack the house for an NCAA play in game that doesn't feature their team. I expect the cryers to pack the house and run away with this one.

So I guess technically, dayton is hosting their own "play in game" since they win this one to make the real A10 tourney??? Ha Ha....Love the summer A10 champs and their play-in game status!!! :)

Check out this NIT projection (http://bracketproject.50webs.com/nit.html) for Dayton.

Now THAT would be a game for masochistic Xavier fans.

Hey, that's still twice as many people that would be at the Smith Center.

What a game. Two teams with crazy athleticsm with absolutely no basketball IQ or shooting ability outside of 2 inches from the rim.

There will be misguided alley OOPS and unguided missle passes flying in all directions. There will also be a lot of unbridled, unnecessary yo-yo jumping and backboard slapping.

Occasionally a basketball will magically go through a hoop.

It seems that X cannot go to scout tonight's game (http://cincinnati.com/blogs/xavier/2010/03/07/chris-mack-on-a-10-voting/). Interesting wrinkle with the new A-10 tournament setup.

- Although Dayton and George Washington play just up the road Tuesday night, XU coaches aren’t allowed to go scout the game. Apparently there’s an NCAA rule that prohibits such activity unless it’s on the conf. tourney’s neutral site (like in Atlantic City). The winner of the UD-GW showdown faces XU at Boardwalk Hall, Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Shannon is, however, in Dayton with updates of tonight's first round match-up: GW at Dayton (http://cincinnati.com/blogs/xavier/2010/03/09/george-washington-at-dayton/)

GW is practically BEGGING UDump to shoot the 3. GW's zone is sagging off the shooters by literally 4 or 5 feet to deny dribble-drive.

I think URI is the only team with a chance at an-large bid anyway. They better at least reach the A10 finals or they're probably heading to the NIT. Charlotte has no shot at an at-large anymore and UDump probably has to win the automatic bid to get in as well.

mr. zimpher

UDump leads by four at the half. GW gives away two points with another "6 men on the floor" technical. UDump shoots better than usual from 3-point range (6-14, 43%). This game is completely up for grabs at this point.

Seriously. The worst time to EVER get a T. GW was on a serious run, and then that just completely undercut it.

GWs off the court mistakes have now cost them 4 points...

But here, it's 55-55 with 5:59 to play.

Like watching a train wreck. I predict excuse #1 for Dumps L on Friday will be Chris Wright's sore back. Followed closely, of course, by the requisite "we got jobbed by the refs". I can't wait.

Who was it that wanted Ron Everhart as the Xavier Coach?

Dookcane fails again and Charlotte melts all the way down at home. Incredible.
