Thomas's comments are not relative to his "confidence" in Cronin. It's all about the money. He's staying because he has 4 years remaining on his contract. (see Brown, Mike)

Although I have nothing against their football team I'm hoping they go back to mediocrity just so UC fans can't say "wait till football starts" or my favorite "We're a football school now".
“It’s a combination of things,” Cronin said. “I think officiating has cost us three games blatantly, but that being said, we’ve shot a low percentage from the free throw line and from the 3-point line. That’s put too much pressure on our defense.

This quote is almost unbelievable. This is typical Mick. Blame everyone else. Until he starts to take some responsibility, that program is going nowhere. In this particular quote, he blames 1) the refs (What are you, some hillbilly fan or the coach of the team? The refs? Really?) and 2) his own players, in an area of the game that seemingly absolves himself from any blame (well, it's not my fault my guys can't make free throws).
Really, this guy is a joke.

What's to change?
He's already been taking the last 3 years off.
