I heard Billy Baron (the other son) has decided to play at Virginia instead of Rhode Island.
I don't know if I could handle another Baron. I guess good news.

That's a pretty big conclusion to draw with no real basis for it. Perhaps the kid just wants to do something different than Rhode Island. Baron seems safe at RI to me.

He appears safe for now, but his contract is only for three more years and URI is not interested in giving him an extension right now. Beyond next season his future is in question. They're quickly approaching the time when paying him not to coach becomes more feasible. Get a few donors together to cover a large part of the contract, and save the rest by paying the replacement less money than Baron.

If Baron doesn't get them in the dance this year or next year, URI will probably begin to really evaluate the future of the program.
