Wednesday night's Temple/ud clash tips off @ the odd/quirky time of 6:30 PM.....

http://www.atlantic10.com/sports/m-baskbl/sched/atl10-m-baskbl-sched.html

CSN Philadelphia, CSN Plus & WHIO are broadcasting the game.

You have to believe that Channel Surfing and/or Justin TV will have net coverage.

We should be able to watch a vast majority of this game prior to

Muskies "killin' it" in St. Louie.

Poll

Dayton(preseason favorites) have their back up against the wall in getting an At-Large bid from the NCAA vs Temple who is presently tied for first in the A10.

Temple at home? More so, Dayton on the road? It's all Owls in thsi one, though the Lord knows we need the Dump to prevail.

Of course, if they win this game, I won't hear the end of it from the roommates. Can't for for us to make the tournament and them to go to the NIT. Bragging rights will only continue!!!

Temple still has to play at Saint Louis after this, so that's another opportunity for them to lose. I cannot possibly root for UD to win this game.....I just can't make myself do it.

If Dayton loses this game, they will be 7-6 in conference play.

How does a team that is the preseason favorite, second round NCAA, with everyone back play just about .500 ball in conference.

For one, the conference is a nasty conference this year.

For two, it's got Gregory at the helm. The coach that will "bolt" for greener pastures soon. HA! He's a TERRIBLE coach in game. He recruits all athletes who can shoot well once in a while, but not often. He's the reason I see for UD falling to pieces.

Can't root for Dayton, want Temple to lose at least one more. No way I can vote in this poll. Funny though, I know if I actually watch the game, I'm sure if Temple scores late to take a lead, I would cheer. Just habit I guess.

Temple is playing for seeding so the game has a lot of importance to them too. ud has shown itself to be a poor road team. Also, ud probably knows that their own NCAA chances are dim. It all adds up to a ud loss and potentially a big one.

Hmmm, interesting.

I have the same feeling that dayton is going to come out with a win. Why? Because they have absolutely no right to win this game. Their road record shows it.

And yet, that's exactly why I think they will. They should get blown out, everything points that way, but I just think they will win.

I have a feeling Dayton pulls this one out. While I hate them on a very special level, it is in our best interest for them to win. I won't say I'm cheering for Dayton to win, but rather for Temple to lose. That makes me feel better about the situation, and the game is certainly within the Cryers' grasp.

I would be shocked if Dayton came within ten points of Temple.

I don't plan on being shocked.

And yes that last sentence is pretty stupid, but then again, so is Dayton basketball.

Animosity toward Dayton aside, I just don't see the cryers playing well enough to beat he Owls on their home floor. They just don't have the team and certainly not the coach.

Word for word, that sums up my feelings on this one. Temple would have to absolutely fall apart for ud to even have a chance of squeeking this one out. And due to their pitiful performances from the line, they would need to have a 6-8 point cushion with under 2 remaining to be able to do that.

Dont, see, it, happening.

We can always rely on the slight possibility of Fran and his crew going to stl and being confused about the blizzard/white out that fans may try on them. Fortunately for X, this happens everytime we go on the road and won't factor into the game at all.

Right now, my only focus is on X getting things done and taking home a 4th straight title. If I see Temple has lost in the next 4 games, then I'll do a separate celebration of happiness. Otherwise, let's run the table and head into the tournament on a high.

Desparate teams can do crazy things.

Dayton has plenty of good players, but its coach cannot arrange them in a positive manner on a basketball court. Maybe the players will suddenly train themselves like in Stripes and emerge victorious with a couple hot chicks, a badass RV, and a set of Spiderman pajamas for London.

Forgot to mention, not related to the game specifically, but Dunphy was on Gottlieb's radio show and while he came across as someone I'm glad is coaching in the A-10 (a good interview along with being a decent person and a huge shill for the Philly market), he stated that he was for the expansion of the team.

When X plays Temple in AC, it will be yet another reason to get me motivated to berate the hell out of Temple, its coach and players at full volume for 40 minutes of hell.

65 teams is silly, let's not make it any worse by adding every crap team on the face of the planet (case in point, St Louis wouldn't even have an issue with the bubble this year even though they were dog sh!t out of conference).

This game is attempting to set basketball back 60 years.

Key stat: the teams combined to shoot 14-61 from the field. How on Earth is that even possible? That's 22%. Twenty-two percent. XXII percentile.

Thank you ESPN for not taking my suggestion and broadcasting it on one of your fifteen alternate channels. The Committee would judge the whole league on this albatros and only let the tournament champ in as an automatic qualifier.

I hate you midget!

Could the Cryers choke any more than they have, and did tonight? What a horriffic performance in a must win game.

All of those athletes, but they played tighter than Scrooge on Christmas Eve. The Midget is just an unbelieveably bad preparation and game coach, especially in road games.

Whereas Xavier plays the tough preseason schedule that hardens them for rough road venues later on, the dump feasts at the pastry cart early and has a nice, soft belly later- a belly that gets poked like the Pillsbury Dough Boy's when it counts.

Outside of Fordham, is there a worse set of guards in this league than Dayton's? Seriously, would any coach trade his guards for these 4 guys:

London Warren - has less range on his jumpshot than Jamel McLean
Rob Lowery - just an abomination of a basketball player
Marcus Johnson - gets worse every year
Paul Williams - another shooting guard who can't shoot

You just can't win in college basketball (especially on the road) without good guards. With UD's collection of guards, they have no chance.
