Excuse if this has been discussed but I just realized that the first round games are at the site of the home team, not in AC.
If X is a one or two seed do we still play on Thursday ( or earlier) or do we get a bye and play Friday in AC??

I believe the top 4 seeds get a bye and will play on Friday in Atlantic City. The schedule of games and which seeds will play when is on the Atlantic 10 website, if that helps.

Top 4 seeds get first round byes, and don't play until friday in AC.
Seeds 5 thru 12 play on home court of higher seed the tuesday prior.
With 3 days rest prior to the 2nd round, it could allow teams that advance on tuesday to give the top seeds fits on friday.

That does not really reward the top 4 teams but I guess it beats having games on Thursday in front of 350 people.
The setup barely penalized or handicaps the low seeds. They stay fresh by playing on Tuesday and get to rest up for Friday. They should be required to play Wedneday night at a minimum.

I love the new format. It is going to be one hell of a tournament.

It sure is. Friday should be really fun.
With so many teams doing well, there might be real people there this year rather than empty seat disguises.

I've already got tickets and my disguise as an empty blue seat with an X in the middle...holding a beer. Can't wait to see 3 games from X. I've been to 4 A-10 tournaments and would like to go above .500 as far as winning the tournament. And with enough alcohol and gambling in a 48 hour span to kill a large bear, I will do my part to make that happen.

Looking forward to my first trip to Atlantic City for the tournament. Should be a great time.

I'm also looking forward to my first trip to AC for the A-10 Tourney.
Two questions though...does everyone in Jersey look and act like The Situation? Will I need to hit the tanning salon and start hitting the juice hard in the next three weeks to fit in?

This will be my third trip to Atlantic City for the tournament; I can't begin to describe the trashy-ness of Atlantic City.
It works out best to bring your own beer and not to associate with the locals.

I haven't been into the jersey since i was 17 at a soccer tournament my senior year of high school. Needless to say, the teams we played were decked out in earrings, gelled hair and sweet, sweet tans.
So yeah, you may want to pump, tan and get your 'do busted. Otherwise, you won't be able to hang out with any of the champs selling tickets outside the stadium.
As a first time attendee in AC, I'm hoping that ugly mural on the wall is gone bc it looked like a poor high school gym from my seat on the couch. Anyone know if that will be vanquished from my view?

One other thing to mention. The tournament games in Atlantic City are basically home games for Temple, St. Joes and La Salle.

Ah, so you're saying they're sparsely attended.
I actually like A.C. Of course, I never leave the Boardwalk (unless it's to go to the Borgatta).

Sounds like my Ohio high school, including the tans. Of course, I'm old enough to remember the days when people thought tanning beds were safe and regularly fried themselves to a crisp.
I never thought I'd say this, but Atlantic City is on my travel wish list. Alas, it will not be this year. I'm lobbying hubby for next year though. If the team continues to develope, it'll be a banner year.

I haven't looked at the tourney schedule. With 4 games on Friday I assume that means our final is now on Sunday ? WhAt time ?

If you've never been to Atlantic City, you have to eat at Bill's Gyros. A restaurant/Liquor store combo.

Similar for us when in Cincy or Dayton when in Dayton.

Noted and scheduled into my blackberry planner....
Friday
4:00: get 'faced drunk and stumble to a Bill's Gyros.
4:08: call friends to bail self out of jail after slamming a gyro and attempting to evade police with 2 bottles of Makers.
