When they heard Brian Gregory was going to play a movie for his team on the road trip, somebody should have told him the name of the film wasn't "Beat Me in St. Louis."

It was kind of gross in HD when you could actually see the poop on Paul Williams' leg as he shot fouls down the stretch.

I got into it with a dayton guy on the A10 board. He said I was an idiot for saying that dayton was in for a rude awakening on the road after the X/Charlotte games. Now who is the idiot?

Ok, maybe me, but I was right.

I HATE dayton.

I personally found the comment section of the dayton daily news story hilarious...

Total chaos from opposing fans as usual mixed with some delusional incorrect predictions

I mean X agrees to play them on their home f'in court. Can't stack the deck any more in Floridas favor than that, and you're still whining about it? FU. X won. Get over it.

The one thing that comforted me after the debacle in Dayton was knowing that they would never, ever be able to duplicate their shooting from that day if we match up again with them during the A-10 tournament. Sure enough, they're back to form.

When St Loo hit that desperation bank 3 to put the game into OT, I was laughing really, really hard. How do you blow a 33-19 lead like that? Just terrible, the midget really cannot coach one bit. Not at all.

I HATE dayton.

Ha ha. Poor guy wants nothing more than to own me on a message board with personal attacks behind an anonymous screen name, and he can't even do that right. Yeah, I'm clearly the spineless punk.

Everyone in UD land loved the two home games, but the question everyone asked was about the road games. The answer was no. I find it hard to blame Williams for missing a FT or the ridiculous, 1 in 100 shot Mitchell hit to force OT. After 7 years of wetting the bed against inferior road teams, I know exactly who to blame.

UD is now in a position where they have to win out at home, beat Duquesne in Pittsburgh, and split on the road against Temple and Richmond. I think the first two will happen, I'm not holding my breath on the last. If they end up 10-6 they'd have to get to the finals in AC. They aren't done, but it doesn't look good.

If Coach Mack needed motivation to get the troops ready to play at SLU, this is it.

Road wins in conference are never easy.

That being said I think X beats SLU by 8-10

Winning on the road is tough. SLU will be a tough game for us.

But if I was a Dayton fan I'd be beyond pissed that this team can crank out 90 points against The Show, then turn around and score 65 in TWO overtimes against The Slob.

I understand the ups and downs of a season, but Dayton really has some slips on the road. I can't figure out why they can't close.

They lose because they have the worst coach in the A-10. The guy can really recruit but he can't coach his way out of a paper bag - and not because he fits nicely in one. You could have made a lot of money this year betting the second half line against UD - the guy does not know what the word "adjustment" means, his substitution patters suggest the attention span of a 5 year old, and none of his players have shown genuine improvement during their time there.

He has one of, if not the most, talented teams in the conference. In the hands of a capable coach that team's looking at 4 or 5 seed.

I've said this for years...Dayton has the best home court in this conference. At the very least they should be 12-4 with the talent that Little Guy has brought in. Meaning, undefeated at home, and then split on the road.

I think they blow their load when we come to town. I mean they went nuts in that game, and what did it get them? Third place.

Besides not fouling anyone on St. Looie in the last 8 seconds of regulation despite plenty of chances. A 3 point lead and St. Louis is about 300 in NCAA D1 in free throw percentage. Nice call, midget.

I was talking to a good friend (and UD alum) the other day about the debacle at the dump. He said a guy he graduated with was at the game and told him it was the loudest he had EVER heard it. I'm assuming the time period goes back to about the early- to mid-80's. His friend goes to quite a few games, especially the big ones, so it's saying a lot about how big that XU game was for the Flyers.

UD is just tired of being the red-uniformed step-child of the A-10.

I don't doubt it. They played really really well that day. But man, you would have thought that was the national championship game, and remember last year when they won and they stood on the scorer's table? That was weird to me.

It's already a tough place to win. When's our last win there? 2008? 2007? It's very tough. But is it really necessary to go completely bonkers? I mean you went from third place to seventh in a week. That loss for us dropped us to second.

The wrong name was on purpose. If you pay attention you'll notice I always use lower case letters to refer to ud and I never use an f to start the team's nickname. Just my thing. Also, I don't hide behind anything. If you want to meet me, so be it I am happy to arrange that. Finally, I don't want to own anyone, I just think you try to act decently so as not to get raked over the coals like all of the other ud fans. I wonder if what you say on ud's chatboard squares with what you post here. But since I have not ever gone to, nor do I intend to go to ud's chat board I won't know first hand. I have to think that it doesn't square. Just my opinion.

At any rate, a lot of X fans on this board seem to accept your sincerity. And in the end I don't really care about you. So with that in mind, and in deference to my fellow XU fans who seem to like you, I've said my piece and am done with the whole thing. I will not address or mention you directly again. That is unless someday I have an opportunity to say "I told you so."

Have a good life AdamtheFlyer. And I capitalized the F just for you.

Hey MOR -- let me blow your mind. In the last 90 seconds of regulation, with UD bricking foul shots all over the place, Gregory had Chris Johnson ON THE BENCH.

Remember Paul Brown's wonderful aphorism? "When you lose, say little. When you win say even less." It says a lot that UD fans live in the past, because basically, with their coach and the economic wasteland that (sadly, and I mean that sincerely) is their lot, that is all they have. There are a few class acts like Adam the Flyer who win or lose seems to maintain an even keel by being a fan without going insane, but for the most part, like Icarus, they fly too damned high and then suffer the consequences on the road. Comments to the DDN after Saturday's game show their true colors.

I think most of UD's problems comes down to shooting. I don't know if it's just the players BG is recruiting, or the high subsitution rate, or the lack of offensive flow. But their shooting has been awful on the road.

Chris Johnson is really, really good. But he doesn't seem to get enough touches. And Luke Fabrizius (sp) is a really nice shooter, but I don't think I've seen him on the court for the past 10 games.

SLU would be 8-2 if they didnt blow a late 10 point lead at GW. I have been saying it all along they are a different team at home and a pretty good one. They do however get caught up in playing to the level of their competition which can obviously be good and bad depending on who they are playing. I have said this before but SLU has only lost like 6 or 7 games or something like that at home the last 2 years since chaifetz arena has opened. I was in St. Louis for mardi gras this weekend (2nd largest after NO if you are wondering why St. Louis) and I was amazed at, when I saw it on TV, how crowded it was at the game, especially the student section, since it was Mardi Gras.

Absolutely. Though I love to see Dayton fans spazz out after a loss, I'm not banking a win at SLU either. We've struggled plenty beating the 3-win A-10 teams at their place.
