As awesome as the BE is - they don't really seem to give a fork. X is their superbowl.

Mick lost the team last year...and he has lost them again this year. His players hate him and want him gone. Xavier fans love him and want him to stay.
I hate both schools but was secretly hoping that UC would lose so they can just shut up and realize that they are a no sport school nowadays

As a Xavier bball fan/grad, a Notre Dame football fan, and hater of everything UC; I had to change my boxers several times tonight watching UC get destroyed whilst Brian Kelly's face plastered on the screen every 3 minutes just to rub salt in the still fresh wounds of UC.

Did you note the second half Brian Kelly interview - shades of the Sean Miller interview during the LaSalle game. When they brought Brian Kelly down to the media table to interview, I was thinking, at some UC fans house or some UC bar - something is going through a television screen, especially considering they were losing.

Brian Gregory is #1; Cronin is #2. It was great that UD actualy made the NCAAs last year and even won a game; that will keep Gregory off of the hot seat up there. Cronin, on the other hand, is in serious jeopardy if they have another .500 Big East season and a BE Tournament flameout.

Considering UC's budget deficits, especially the athletic department's, they probably cannot afford to fire Cronin.

I think if they had a .500 Big East season they would be praising him.
I would think somewhere around 7-11 when its all said and done.
And that is giving them the Marquette and Depaul games which aren't gimmies for the UC basketball squad.
Other games include Syracuse, Villanova, @ Georgetown, @ West Virginia, @ South Florida and @ Connecticut.

Wow, yeah UC is toast. Only game I see them winning from here on out is DePaul, and yes I'm including the Big East tourney. Mick is a lousy coach, and even lousier in the months of February and March.

As Mick was blasting his team after the game it was noted that he asked his team this. "are you telling me notre dame wouldn't win the a-10?"

In the issue of fairness, their closing stretch does include Syracuse, Marquette (who we more than struggled against), and Nova along with @UConn, @WVU, and @G'town. Of those six games how many do we win?

South Florida has won 4 straight with wins against Georgetown and Pitt so the game against them may not be a gimme.

What does that have to do with this topic, which is UC and their fading tourney chances? Did Mick Cronin hack your account and post this question. And why should we be fair about UC? F-ck em', hope they lose out and don't even make the NIT. And we would go undefeated on that stretch of games! (ok, not really, but screw it, I'm on a roll!)

Yes, the topic was UC's fading tournament chances, and yes their remaining schedule is relevant. If their remaining schedule isn't relevant, Mr. THRILLHOUSE, then why did you bring it up in the first place?

Xavier would not have lost to St. John's, Seton Hall or get blasted by 20 against ND. So losing to those teams that you mentioned would not matter. However I think Xavier can beat any those teams. Would they? Who knows but I think they could at least split them.
I do know what happens in November (see Xavier losing to Marquette and UC beating Vandy) means nothing in March. Xavier frankly is just a better team than UC.

So to get this straight, THRILLHOUSE, brings up UC would only 1 more game this year. I bring up that it might not have to do with UC not being a good team but rather because they have a difficult schedule. So my XU fandom, service to my country, and trips to the sandbox are put into question?

Sorry but you really can't put that one on Thrillhouse. ANYONE that mimics mic-Cronin's bleating is opening the door to get trashed on this board.

If we played Marquette right now...they would be done. Crawford is a different player now. I would say we win Marquette and UConn....the other four games could go either way. If we had 2 at home we could definitely win both at home.
The difference between Xavier and UC basketball is Xavier is playing their best basketball in Feb and March...UC is playing their worst basketball in these months.

He has not flamed the board, and his posts have been balanced. He's entitled to be a fan of whatever school(s) he chooses.
Operating under the assumption that he did serve in our armed forces, I wholeheartedly thank him for his service.

I've admitted this before too, I am a UC grad student, live in Clifton and as such am able to get tickets to their games more readily, easily, and cheaply than I can to XU games. Therefore I attend more UC than XU games. I also made a personal rule to myself to only comment on games I've watched or seen, thusly I comment on some UC topics. I also try not to repeat things a lot of other people are saying, therefore I may not comment a lot on XU games because I have nothing new to bring to the table. Is this so bad?
And I do apologize for sounding Mick. At the same time I try to be fair assessments. So my viewpoints may come across as sounding more like Mick than Andy Mac at points, but does this mean I cannot be part of Xavier Nation?
