Just looked at the scoreboard, and see that GW has a 4 point lead with just 3:46 to play at Charlotte. A loss would really really hurt Charlotte obviously.

Bobby Lutz is a great man. He complemented the crowd over the loudspeakers after the game for their support. This is going to be a tough place to play when we go there later this year.

GW will be a tough team if they can just learn how to finish the endgame. I just don't see it happening this season.

We wanted to (and I'm being serious) for no other reason than to say STFU to the media after this week...

...but we were all just too pissed off. I don't get to watch many A-10 games (MASN is only available on satellite here) so I haven't seen GW play much... do they play everybody that dirty?

There was one instance where Phil Jones and another GW player went to the floor, as Phil was getting up the other guy gave him a pretty fierce punch to the back of the head, and got away with it. (I left the name out of it because I didn't catch the number and didn't want to falsely accuse one of the other thugs) I try to keep my temper even because I'm so close to the court and everything, but I absolutely lost it last night after that.

The entire game was a bunch of cheap shots from Warden Hobbs's thugs. Dewhurst walked off of the court with a black eye and a split lip. He wasn't fouled once during the entire game.

I missed it. What happened with the media this week?

Just a lot of backlash about us rushing the court. ESPN, bloggers, etc.

It was all well and passed until the commentator for the UC-UMass game decided to hop on the soap box about it.

I roll my eyes at them.

So, back to my other question...

Is an X vs. GW game like a cage fight too?

The GWU locker room held six counts of assault & battery after the game last night.

Right now our focus is hating UD. No offense but you're interupting our train of thought.

As a drunken college student, I would see no problem rushing the court. But,nowadays, the liability ins. people rule all. If you had an old guy out there sweeping the court or whatever, a $8 hr. security guy, who gets his head, leg, foot whatever stepped on = huge liability claim. Liab. Ins. goes thru the roof = huge exp for Univ. The bastard Ins. people will use it against you even if there are no claims, i.e. "potential for claims". We live in a litigous society. Sue everybody and get a settlement.

Oh, I apologize. I don't really hate them so much, I guess because I feel sorry for them.

After all, they do live in Dayton.

I think X and GW started playing each other regularly a season or two prior to X joining the A10. So maybe '94 or '95? And I think there was a period where X and GW played twice a year. Up to about Millers 2nd year, the two teams were very similiar in strength and there were a lot of close games. There was definitely a very good rivalry on the court. Off the court my recollection is that it's always been mutually respectful. Hobbs does strike me as cocky, and if I recall he might have had an issue or two when visiting Cintas.

X v. GW has been really one-sided this decade, even when GW was successful.

There have been more chippy games v. Duquesne; Simon Ogunlesi is one of the more hated goons in recent Xavier memory.
