There has been several debates about reducing teams in the league, SLU wanting to go to another conference, and the betterment of the A10. In other threads, people want SLU to stay in the conference and think they are good for the conference. I was one of those people...until as of late....particularly, this season.
SLU is 12-8 on the season with wins of Nebraska and Richmond. They do have an RPI of 102 (currently). But today was the kicker. They scored 36 points...in the whole game!!! 16 points in the second half. WTF? This is not the first time they have not been able to score, but you would think that they would work through some of those issues.
By comparison of lowest output:
Fordham...44
St. Bonaventure...53
St. Joseph...46
Alcorn State (0-21)...31
Bryant (0-21)...44
Let them go and drag on some other conference

My opinion is that Saint Louis is far from a drag on the conference.

If the conference gets reduced only by two I'd chose from La Salle, Fordham, St. Bonaventure.
If the conference goes back to 10 teams (reducing four) it'd be La Salle, Fordham, St. Bonaventure, Saint Louis, Duquesne to chose from.

Again,
St. Louis and Charlotte have been nothing and done nothing for this league ever since they joined. This year is the first year Charlotte is decent.....still....it will be an NIT year barring a miracle.

I think you may be underselling Charlotte's chances just a tad.

Agree, Charlotte's really improved. Braswell is a beast and Green is really good too.

I think Charlotte is a good team to have in our league. Decent following and they are alot better this year than they showed at the Tas, the game there should be very good.
I actually like the Bonnies chances of being good alot more than Duquesne right now with Schmidt turning things around there and Duquesne is going broke so I'm sure their program will suffer alot.

Since joining the A10 SLU's avg finishing RPI is #109. Not great, but not exactly draging the conference down. I am telling you that the Majerus coaching hire will pay off in a huge way over the next 2 years. He will have 3 classes in his system next year with his first class being jrs. Brad Sodeberg was a horrible recruiter and SLUs lack of success over the last couple years are contributed to him. He got Lisch and Liddell in the same class then apparently decided to stop recruiting.

Charlotte was good a couple years ago with Goldwire but this is their best year in the conference so far. The conference really needs Charlotte to continue improving and we don't really need Saint Louis. I'm sure the MVC would be more than happy to take them.

Curtis Withers was another stud they had in their 1st A-10 season, but a pair of losses to Xavier and a heart-breaking loss at GW kept them out of the NCAAs that year.

Nah, man.
I want Charlotte in this league. They've been down a bit, but part of that was that Beelzebob absolutely ripped Michael Beasley from them by his usual slimy tactics. Lutz is getting it back together, though.
Nice school, great arena on campus and a southern venue for mid-winter trips. Nothing wrong with anything there.
Oh, by the way. The league is called the Atlantic 10. Last time I checked my Garmin, North Carolina is on the Atlantic ocean.
SLU has not been great in men's hoops, but I like that the University is generally committed to academic and athletic success.
Hiring Majerus was a bad decision. I hope he leaves or gets fired. Until then, I hope he learns to shut his fat mouth.
There's no way I'd include SLU on the list of teams I don't want in the conference.

I don't mind having SLU in the league. If they left, it wouldn't really bother me either.
