Good Lord, do I hate that man. As several of you know I hold a degree from Marshall, which gives me a double whammy of hatred for him as he is associated with the two schools I despise the most, UC and WVU. After The Herd lost to WVU Wednesday night (it was tied with 1 minute to go, I might add), Huggins 1) challenged a Herd fan in the stands, asking "do you wanna go? Come on Down!" and 2) had to be restrained by secruity to prevent him from going into the Marshall student section. Apparently some of the Marshall students were holding up signs making fun of him and chanting about his DUI and low graduation rates. What a tool. :D

I appreciate a guy named Pork hates Huggins.
That is too funny.

Any links to write ups on the ruckus? I enjoy when Huggins goes on a tirade.

Nothing too descriptive...the WV media tends to downplay everything bad WVU does. Oddly enough, the only online article I've found is in WVU papers. But many of my friends at the game, as well as my father who is a WVU grad, witnessed the "special activities." They were all rolling because WVU pulls out the same "it isn't a rivalry" garbage that UC does. Here is the one decent link I can give you, though it is from a biased student source:

if Thuggins can get himself into bar fights with fans after losing in an NCAA Tournament game, as was reported in ESPN the Magazine from a writer who witnessed just that, he can sure get into a fight in a basketball arena.
Just an a$$ and a black mark on college basketball, but the fawning media always lets his fat butt off the hook.

While I am NO FAN of Huggins, I can only imagine what the Marshall fans were saying to the WVU team and supporters. No offense to you or your dad Porkopolis, but Marshall fans are some of the biggest A$$-Holes I've ever been around. Literally I've heard of at least 15 different accounts (including one of my own) of people going to Marshall football games as supporters of the visiting team and getting threatened, verbally assaulted, and worse. With WVU being a heated rival, I can only imagine what the Marshall fans were saying/doing. Maybe Marshall basketball fans are total angels...but I doubt it.

Ha ha, I still laugh every time I hear the Pirates in the PbP. How did the editors miss that.
As for X-fan's post, I simply have to disagree. It's funny, when Marshall was in the MAC I heard those complaints all the time, yet never saw evidence of it in person. Since moving to C-USA Herd fans are routinely praised as some of the most friendly fans in the league...the same was true when we were in the Southern Conference in the 1-AA days. Then again, I'm not sure how MAC fans would know since they are always too busy cheering for their local Big Ten school.

It's one thing for players to get visibly upset. They are kids, after all. But for the head coach? Of all people on the court, that's the person that should be in control of himself. And I don't mean they shouldn't show emotion but that they shouldn't appear prepared to launch themselves at fans. Frankly, I'm disappointed whenever a coach engages with spectators in a negative manor.

Is there a bigger dickhead in college basketball? I'm still waiting for the second heart attack. It will happen. He is looks terrible these days. Good thing he really took the docs advice to heart after the 1st one.

Pun intended?
But yeah I agree, heck when my dad had a heart attack that was enough for me to make changes to my life.
