Let this be a lesson to all, don't don't don't do this

When setting your Tivo, DVR whatever you have, to record a basketball game, always, always always set it to also record the game immediately after. When do we ever see a game finish in the alloted 2 hours?

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid.

At least I got to see it to the point that XU took a 4 point lead.

Yeah, I think I tell it to go 30 minutes past the end time. Only time I had an issue was with UC game this year. ;-)

I suggest one hour in case of delays, etc. Your UC example is perfect example.

I can't watch sporting events on tape.

I think the first indication of the stupidity was allowing a scheduling conflict that caused you to need to record the game.

I record most of the games and watch them after I put my girls to bed.

If I actually want to pay attention to the game without yapping or screaming in my ear, that's what I have to do :)

Then you aren't stupid.

1 Hour is my standard if I DVR a game. Then again I don't think 1 hour would cover the 2008 Crosstown game...

My question is why do they continue to list basketball games for a 2 hour slot? They always go long. The smart move would be for the listings to have them at least go 2 1/2 hours or more.

I wish they also made it so that you could relabel the titles of things you save. Now THAT would clean up my DVR.

I HATE dayton.

I always set my DVR to go 2 hours over for sorting events. With the exception of the (possibly rigged) NFL, they never finish in their alloted time slots.

If you DVR games and do not extend the taping of the game, you will learn this lesson the hard way. Hell, I have Directv and they rigged it so that now when I set the DVR to record a basketball game, Directv automatically asks if I want to extend the recording for an extra 30 minutes.

And always extend it for an extra 60 minutes. You shouldn't need that much time, but why not overprepare and delete later? Now if I could just figure out how to burn these games on a DVD!!

There are a bazillion good reasons to do something other than watch a game. I had my tongue fully in cheek, as I hope the original poster did.

I've got Directv, and mine doesn't do that. Is there a setting I need to make?
