View Full Version : The Borecats

Having nothing else to do today other than snowblowing the driveway and watching basketball, I also tuned in to that school in Clifton's game. Another questionable, at best effort.
I hope that the yellow toothed gnome is the coach for SucKS for a very long time. I know that a kid went off for over 30 for Seton Hall, but sorry, SucKS should not lose that game.
Can someone tell me why Cashmere Wright was so highly regarded? I've said it before, but he is a worse edition of London Warren. One spectacular play is overridden by 6 horriffic decisions. Nancy Gates only seems to decide to play every third play. Thomas is a joke. Stevenson can't keep his mouth shut. Vaughan is the only dependable guy on that team.
The thing that pisses me off the most is that by the time the Borecats get done with their screwing around their record won;t be worth a plugged nickel. The media apologists will just say that "That's life in the Big Greased".
HA!

You, MOR, are a great American.

I am glad that we didn't end up with Nancy Gates. She has monthly cycles.

While I agree with pretty much everything you said MOR, running his mouth or not that Lance Stephenson is a hell of a player. I am pretty happy X only has to play him once, and he goes out the way he should... 0-1.
But still, the kid can play, unfortunately (for him) UC's offense is pretty bad when Lance isn't doing something.

It took Cronin 4 years to accumulate the talent he should have needed to compete in the Big East. After this year, he could lose most of the talent he had when Vaughn graduates, Stephenson goes, and possibly Gates. What happens next year when they have no scoring threat. Then they will have to repeat the cycle. UC will just suck for a long time.

No way Gates goes. But still, this is UC's best chance at the NCAA and unless they pick there game up I see NIT at best.

Without a doubt, next year they will struggle. Their recruits are solid but not offensive threats and will not replace the scoring DV and Lance will leave behind.

I have long said UC basketball will enjoy Rutgers type success in the Big East. They'll have their years where they make the dance, but then will have to wait another 4-5 years to get back.

I always thought that as well but right now Rutgers type success would be a step up for UC.
The size of the BE will make it hard for more than 3 or 4 teams to annually make the dance and UC will never be in that top tier in the BE.

I dunno - has Rutgers even made the NCAA Tournament since winning the A-10 Tournament in the early 90s?
It wouldn't surprise me to see UC ultimately make the Dance this year, but an implosion wouldn't be a shock, either.

Not to change the point, but do you now concede that McGwire took steroids?

Lesson: do not be so eager for Xavier to jump to a bigger league.

Exactly. Watching Villanova and Loiusville last night was difficult. I don't know if I could sit through a Xavier game where 4,000 fouls were called and listen to the announcers talk about how tough the BE is.

I never said he didn't take them. I said there was no evidence he did. Big difference.

I still don't see why the consensus amongst us Xavier fans is that we are happy Yancy Gates is at UC at XU. Gates is solid player and would make XU better. I understand his rep, which really isn't true at all. He is basically a more athletic Jason Love with a longer range. How doesn't he help? Why wouldn't we want a local recruit that is among the most sought after in the nation?

I wouldn't say big difference. Both statements are equally inaccurate.

Actually, both of my statements are correct.

I'm pretty sure he was benched for the second half of a recent UC game for not trying. At least, that's the reason I've been told from some UC fans.
