"Five for Friday"
Welcome to the fourth installment of "Five for Friday".
Each week I'll tackle five different topics within the Atlantic 10:
A game, a player, a team (***XU***), a statistic, and a wild-card subject.
Players and the team of the week do not necessarily reflect the most outstanding team and/or player, but represent only an individual or squad I find worthy of some ink.

If this writer ever comes to Cincinnati, beers are on me for this delightful paragraph...
"Simply put, Xavier has walked the walk before, the Muskies know what it takes to win league titles, and they do it better than any program in the conference. Period. Talent will come and go through the doors of the Cintas Center, but the tradition and winning mentality of Xavier Basketball supersedes any single player's scoring average. That my friends is the definition of a "program"."
Give this man an honorary diploma and a job at ESPN!!!!

Nice article about Xavier hunting for another A10 championship
Thanks Madx! :D This is one of the best quotes I have read about Xavier this year...
"...The Team: Xavier Musketeers
When was the last time water cooler talk could be overheard and the Xavier Musketeers were discussed as a dark-horse in terms of challenging for a league title? If you can't remember that time, don't feel bad, because fact of the matter is most everyone can't either. Xavier sports a 9-5 record (1-0 in the league), and has taken a back seat to the Dayton, Temple, Rhode Island and Richmond fanfare. Could the flagship program of the league all the sudden be a second tier club?
Easy answer. No. Xavier isn't dead in the hunt for the league championship by a longshot. XU's five losses have come at the hands of Marquette, Butler, Kansas State, Baylor and Wake Forest; hardly cupcakes. And while the Josh Duncans and Stanley Burrells are gone, "X" still possesses the necessary ingredients to make a run at the league title: A great home-court advantage, a big time scorer (Jordan Crawford), a solid point guard (Terrell Holloway), a veteran forward (Jason Love) and most importantly, a championship pedigree.
Simply put, Xavier has walked the walk before, the Muskies know what it takes to win league titles, and they do it better than any program in the conference. Period. Talent will come and go through the doors of the Cintas Center, but the tradition and winning mentality of Xavier Basketball supersedes any single player's scoring average. That my friends is the definition of a "program".
Xavier still leads the league in scoring, and for a team that lost Derrick Brown to the NBA, that is no small feat. Head Coach Chris Mack has done an excellent job of quickly installing his system and to their credit, the Xavier players have adjusted well to the tweaks implemented. It only seems logical to assume that the Musketeers will improve as the year goes forward, as the team and coach have more time to mesh with one another. Counting out Xavier this year would be a major mistake for any team, or follower of the A-10..."
