Given that Fordham is unbelievably terrible at basketball, shows no sign of ever getting better and, at least according to RPIforecast.com, a game against them is the worst possible thing that can happen to a bubble team's power ranking, I propose the following:

In the preseason, each A-10 coach gets to elect whether or not they want to play Fordham that season. Teams like XU and Temple would obviously decline, since the RPI/SOS hit is so devastating. Teams at the bottom end would choose to play Fordham to rack up wins. Games against Fordham would not count in determining the league's regular season champion, but would count in determining A-10 Tournament qualification and seeding.

Ultimately, this could lead to the single greatest season in A-10 history. All the teams that are trying would play each other, and Fordham could play 16 intrasquad scrimmages (and still go 1-15).

uh huh, right - like that is ever going to happen. If Xavier had that much power, Fordham would be gone by now.

Cheese, I applaud you for your thinking outside the box. While unorthodox, your suggestion would help the season immeasurably.

May I suggest my ideas for decreasing the incredibly long, boring monster that is a MLB game. How about if we start every batter with a 1-1 count? Batters take pitches and get to this point anyway, it works great at our Memorial Day festival when rain cuts into the available time, and it could cut the games back to two and a half hours. Bud Selig failed to respond to my e-mail when I suggested this to him.

If I can get Bud to support this, then I would suggest a 12 second pitch clock, or it is a ball, and once a batter steps in to the box, he is not allowed to step out to "adjust" his batting glove, without being called out.

Get the games back to two and a half hours, and maybe I could watch again.

There are very few changes that are likely to happen outside of a complete shake up of conference affiliations.

My thoughts were divide the conference into 2 divisions (Divisions "A" & "B"). Teams only play other teams within the same division (home & away for each team in the division). At the end of the season all teams play a common confernce tourny. The winner of the tourny and the next 6 teams with the highest RPI go to the "A" division, while the remaining teams go to the "B" division.

This would allow the teams that actually make an effort to schedule harder competion and back it up with performance will compete with like minded teams and be rewarded for doing so.

Why not just make it easier and kick Fordham out.. I mean how the hell is their basketball team making money, I've seen more people out walking on the street than I see at those Fordham games when Xavier travels there. It's not even like they make money off of playing games against top teams where they can get payed to travel there, they play terrible teams and still lose. They are a disgrace to anything that has to do with basketball.
