I'd say Roy's reaction to this (http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/blog/the_dagger/post/Roy-Williams-kicks-out-heckling-fan-at-the-Dean-;_ylt=Aiu_BjncY39upD.h0a62sNzevbYF?urn=ncaab,20833 5)is a tad bit excessive.
And here's the video of the fan being ejected (http://www.wralsportsfan.com/unc/video/6605651/)from the Dean Dome.

The story gets better. According to UNC (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/mensbasketball/acc/2009-12-14-fan-ejected-north-carolina_N.htm), Williams didn't ask campus police to toss the fan. They ejected him because he was uncooperative. It really didn't have anything to do with Williams or what the fan had said.
Look at the video in the first post again and tell me if you see such a lack of cooperatiion or resistance that the fan merited being booted from the arena.

Roy Williams is a fruit cake. I have always said it and this confirms it. Even if the guy was "uncooperative," you are playing Presbyterian. Grow some thicker skin and be a man once in your life Roy.

What did the Presby fan say?

What did the Presby fan say?
"Don't miss, Deon" or something along those lines.

Why is the coach of the defending National Champions concerned about the seating in the arena? You can see in the video that after he turns around and yells at the guy and gets frustrated he waves over security and just points the guy out. Williams has on more than one occasion come off as quite an ass. I hope this blows up in his face and hurts him in the long run. Just ignore the fans and coach the game. How would he have reacted if it was him getting talked to during the game Sunday night instead of coach Mack? Would he have tried to have Stephenson escorted out? Who cares just coach and don't worry about anything else.

Agreed.
It's even more stupid when you realize his team was up by 39 points at the time.

Not to defend him but was he implying that the seat this guy was sitting in was a university/team controlled ticket? Again I'm not suggesting it's right but I can kinda' sense the frustration if an opposing fan is sitting in seats earmarked for the player's and coach's families.

I understand this but it shouldn't be on him to pay attention to that, that's security and the ushers. If he didn't have a ticket in the lower bowl he shouldn't have been down there. Williams never should have even turned around in the first place. It just sounds to me like UNC is trying to cover up the total dick move of it's coach.

Roy Williams just gained douchebag status. WOW! If UNC gave that guy a free ticket, maybe I would understand. But, if that guy paid for the ticket, Roy should have shut his mouth. He said in his presser that the media shouldn't make a big deal out of it or give it more attention than it deserved. Well, Roy, you made a big deal out of it and caused it to get more attention than it deserved. I love how people put the blame/responsibility on the media when a situation they created grows larger than they anticipated.
It also would have been understandable if the guy was shouting, "Deon, your entire family bangs pigs and I hope you and the rest of your UNC teammates die horrible, painful deaths in the next day!" But it seems the guy's taunts were related only to basketball.
Question: if the Tar Heels can't handle the heat of one fan from Presb. lobbing some lame, basketball-related heckling their way, what's going to happen when Roy brings these boys into Cameron?

Think Dayton will win by more than 5?

UNC said that at the time, Williams thought the guy was in University-provided guest seats, but he actually wasn't.
Frustrated is one thing. Motioning for security to take care of the guy is another. He is a buffoon.

What a jackass. The fan, too, probably, but we're SUPPOSED to be jackasses.

I find it hard to believe that the police where grabbing him and pulling him. This guy was not a drunk and/or unruly fan. Sheesh.

"Hey Deon, don't miss." At face value, that's not an insult, and is pretty mild. If we apply that criteria at the Tas, we'd have to eject most of the students and much of the rest of us for making noise while the opponent is shooting.
The worst part to me was that the coach actually turned around and engaged the fan, yelling and pointing at him first before calling security. Pretty juvenile if you ask me.

Hell, you would have to kick Mack out for stomping and waving his arms trying to get the crowd fired up during UC's free throws.

Yeah my rapist comments probably would have not went over well. Or the 'your mom is a stripper' comments either.

Very weak, Roy. "Don't miss Deon", is hardly grounds to have a fan booted from the game and those cops were dicks. No need to be pulling and grabbing the guys shirt and arm. The guy was not drunk, unruly, or using profanity and you could tell by his face he was like, "you gotta be kidding me", when the cops came to his area.
I think Roy, the NC Athletic Dept., and the cops owe the guy an apology.

Thinking the same thing.
I hope they foul Deon early, just so he has to go to the line.
