Game starts at 7. Try to make it out if you can.

Hopefully X can bounce back after what coach called 'getting our asses kicked' in East Lansing.

I don't see the audio link on goxavier.com, but I assume it'll be there, we'll be sedning our Maine Karma your way.

X loses 72-71.

We were #12 in the polls before this game and now we are going to drop big time.

This had better be a big wake up call for this team.

Disappointing 72-71 loss to the Michigan Wolverines. Xavier really needs to get things together.

Some observations:

*Ta'Shia needs to get the ball more. Our offense should run through her.
*Katie is having a very special player and is continuing to have an amazing freshman year.
*Amber needs to BRING IT every game. Together her defense was horrible, and I hate to blame one player for losing the game because the whole teamed seemed nonchalant, but DANG, she sucked on defense.
*Special needs to shoot the ball more. She has to keep the defense honest and she LED the A-10 in 3-point-fg percentage last year and for some reason the woman won't shoot the ball.
*April needs to be replaced in the starting lineup by Dee Dee or Katie. She needs a big wakeup call. Her play is not earning her a starting assignment.

The overall intensity today just sucked until late in the game was it was too late, and can someone please tell me how that freshman for Michigan from Winton Woods escaped Cincinnati. I sure hope McGuff atleast tried to recruit her because she is special.

Side Note: At the end of the game I saw a camera man pull coach McGuff to the side and appeared to show him a picture that he took. He was pointing to the line under Xavier's goal where it appeared the Michigan big girl stepped on the line. McGuff looked very pisses. Coach Neighbors and Amy Waugh also came over and looked and seemed mad. I'm pretty sure we should have had the ball with 7 seconds left, but oh well. We shouldn't have put ourselves in that situation. Still kinda sucks!

On the Mississippi St. We better get things together soon!

We should have had the ball with 7 seconds left.... Big mistake by the refs!

Oh you have to be f'ing kidding me. The ref is staring right at the play 10 feet away too?!?

I'm assuming that was that "final chance" play at the end, certainly would have been nice to have one more shot at it.

Nice picture, thanks!

Wow, did they blow that call....the ref in the pic should have seen that but there was probably a ref that was on the baseline that should have seen for sure. I really think Coaches should be able to take proof like this and send it to the NCAA so that it can be used for grading refs jobs to see if they get raises or get the ax. Some how refs should be accountable....

Obviously a blown call there which is highly disappointing from a veteran officiating crew. Let's face it, all refs miss 'em once in a while, which is why teams should never play themselves into a position to get jammed by a call.

I was impressed with Michigan, especially on defense where they got a lot of hands in passing lanes. Looks as if they'll be much better than last year's 10-20 record.

Nice that the Gray Ladies came all the way back from 10 or 11 down, whatever. If Xavier would've matched Michigan's effort throughout, I think we're looking at a 10-point win this morning. Hopefully, this is a learning experience.

Pick it up ladies, Missy State is solid. Get focused, play hard.

I'm more disappointed that a game was scheduled in the midst of exams; that being said it's tough for the game to come down to one supposed blown call.

It was the first day of exams right??? That's better than a lot of these other teams playing all week..

I think this is the first time in a long time where we lost AND shot well. We shot 50% for the game, had 20 assists to 16 turnovers. I'm not actually not too upset by this loss for that reason. Those numbers usually will result in a win. The defense obviously was poor today, but that's usually the exception rather than the rule.

Last year, I thought our lack of offense killed us, especially toward the end of the season. So oddly enough, I'm happy to see a loss that was not caused by a poor offense. Also, let's give Michigan a lot of credit. They are really playing well this year.

Let's break the losing streak against Mississippi State!!

Also, outside of Harris and Ta'Shia, is Katie Rutan the best recruit that McGuff has brought in? I think so.

I think I might agree. She still has some work but I've been REALLY impressed!

We didn't have exams on Monday unless you had a class that was after 4:00 pm. I would imagine with their schedules at night that wasn't the case for any of them.

Still, I agree with where your coming from, its really close.
