While watching the Florida/Rutgers women's game on ESPN2 Carolyn Peck (former coach at Purdue) was talking about who had a shot at beating Connecticutt. She first mentioned Stanford as the clear possibility to beat UConn and then she mentioned that Texas A&M may have an outside shot. Finally, she said that in a cinderella situation Xavier would have a shot at beating the Huskies. She mentioned Amber, Ta'Shia, and Special. Pretty exciting. I wasn't expecting to hear that.

Does anyone else think we have a chance to beat UConn?

Hopefully we get to find out in the national championship game.

Heard the same thing, only exciting part of a really boring game actually.
Also at half they talked up UD and the A-10.

XU vs UConn? would love to see it, win or lose it elevates the program.

I do not think we could beat UConn.

I think that Maya Moore and Tina Charles are the best post tandem in the country. Yes, they are one of the few combos that are better than Phillips and Harris. Seriously, they are that good.

The rest of the matchups are a wash at best, and UConn has a much better bench.

The best 4 teams in the country IMO are UConn, Tennessee, Stanford, and Baylor. Of those teams, UConn scares me the most. Right now, I have no reason to believe that they won't repeat as NCAA champs.

I would not want to see them until at least the Final Four.

Did you really HAVE to bring us to reality???? LOL... JK. I think you're probably right. It's possibile but it would take a lot.

Any team can be beaten on any day. If it happens in the championship game, then I will take it.

Hopefully McGuff's teams start winning in March first before any talk of even getting a shot at UConn. There's no excuses not to win in the tourney this year.

The last few years the inconsistent 3-point shooting has killed us in the NCAA tourney. In particular Jerri Taylor had horrid games against Gonzago last year and Nebraska the year before that. I 100% believe we will advance this year with Amber back and much more consistency behind the arc with Tyeasha and Katie!

Before dreaming about NC's better hire a coach that is able to beat teams the likes of Michigan. I doubt if your coach will be able to beat Geno, even with equal talent, which other than Harris and Phillips, right now you don't have. I feel bad for these greatly talented girls essentially wasting their abilities playing for such an incompetent coach. Purdue fan with sour grapes? Not really, your coach leaves a lot to be desired. Good luck to the girls though; they deserve better. Sorry!

They've already won some big games this year. Coach McGuff will be just fine. Thanks for your concern though.

All right, I hope the young women learned their lessons from MSU and UM, and go teach Miss St few lessons of their own tomorrow. Time to get back on the right track!
