The Lady Muskies will take on Kansas in the first round of the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas this Thursday. Me being a KU student last year (and hopefully again soon!), this is a huge game for me haha. Here's what I posted on the KU board...
"Gosh this is tough for me, being a lifelong Xavier fan (I'm from Cincinnati) and then going to KU last year (and hopefully going back soon).
I saw XU play against ASU this past Saturday and absolutely dominate the supposedly #14 Sun Devils. But knowing what KU returns from last years NIT runners-up would make it hard for me to pick against them. So with that said...I think I will not make a prediction haha.
I wish this game was on TV so I could watch!"
Here's the link to the KU board...lots of action going on over there!

And a link to the preview article in the KU paper today...and they mispelled "Cincinatti" :( And to think I wrote for that paper last year haha. Other than that, it's a good article, though.

I think with just Harris and Philips we would beat KU on a neutral court. Put Rutan in the mix, along with the way that Moss has been able to connect this year, I see about a 10+ win for X.

I'm not going to be so optomistic but in my heart I believe we should have a win! Danielle McCray who played with Ta'Shia this summer in the World University Games can really ball though, so I'm just hoping Tyeasha or April can shut her down. I watched the video from Xavier vs. Kansas from 2 years ago which I taped and it's interesting how our 2 teams are pretty much the same. We were both really young then and now everyone has grown up. We def have more talent, I think the question will be whether we can execute or not. We will see! I think you can go to www.junkanoojam.com and actually watching streaming video of the game. I'll have to make some time on Thanksgiving Day to watch a little!

Xavier is really slacking with at least not providing a gametracker for this game. Our women don't nearly get enough exposure.

Trying to get updated scores for this game was HORRIBLE!!! I was so stressed out. I did get word through cbssports.com that Xavier won 76-71. No stats available yet!

In Xavier's defense, I don't think that the Gametracker system can be used in certain areas/facilities.
Trying to get updates from ESPN is beyond annoying though. Why do they only update the scores every 15-20 minutes?

I cannot help but wonder if this is the year the ladies outperform the men with regards to number of wins, conference success, conference tourney and NCAAs. I hope they finally break through in March and make the Sweet 16. Ta'Shai and Amber are a nasty combo!

Kind of funny watching the game, with the background of this tiny little gym it felt like going to an AAU game, or watching a summer league game.
It really makes me proud to be a fan of this team when I see success like this, just look over the ratings, we're ranked ahead of Duke, Vandy, Oklahmoma and Michigan State! Take a look at the RPI ratings, we beat the #1 team, I know rpi is a bit out of whack this early, but stil!!!!
I'm sure it's great for the team to get time away, especially going to the bahamas for the holiday, I wonder though how long tiny little holiday tourneys like this will go on, how long it will take for the womens tourneys to approach the type we are seeing on the men's side?
