While I would love to go to Cancun and watch Xavier play, I really hope X never gets in this tournament. Check out the "gym" where they'll be playing the games. After the games, stay tuned for Dancing With the Stars.
Where's the scoreboard?

Who cares where the scoreboard is!!
You're only 20 feet away from the court.

WTF? Is that a banquet hall that they brought bleachers and a court into? Look at the seats for the players, lol.

That scoreboard is hilarious. But in all actuality, I think it would be pretty cool to see X in that intimate of an environment.
Also, looking at the field, appears they don't really usually/plan to in the future include team's like UK, who I'm imagining could bring enough fans to fill up that ballroom 400 times.

Off the ceiling, off the scoreboard, off the disco ball, off the dance floor, off Calipari, off the chandelier......NOTHING BUT NET

You forgot to throw an "off Grimace's head" in there.

I love the carpet right off the floor. At the Gardens we had plywood on top of ice--this place has plush carpet. The chandeliers do provide ambience that can not be found in other venues.

That setup reminds me of the mid-90s when they hosted the MAC championship at the Columbus Convention Center. The high-school football bleachers look absolutely tacky in the photo.

Hopefully they don't hit the buffet table too much during the games. Do they call a dead ball if a shot hits one of the chandeliers?

Are the chandeliers in play or do you have alternate possesion if you hit one?

You called that one right.
I see a new marketing opportunity for the Cintas Center. Bring a floor into the Banquet room and market it to local schools with small attendance as a way to experience the big time atmosphere without the big time price.

Gillispie must have gotten a great deal on an all-inclusive weekend and figured if they played the games in the hotel he could get free cocktails delivered to the bench. Always thinking.

I love the comments by the UK fans. Laughed out loud when they mentioned how nasty those padded chairs would smell after a few games. Imagine the poor shmo who comes to Cancun two week later for a wedding and gets up from his chair reeking of Patrick Patterson for 2 days..

i am now more interested than i would normally be because of how ridiculous the arena is. i'm now going to watch a little for that reason. otherwise i probably wouldn't care at all.
