I'll be there as well, courtesy of the free voucher with my season tickets. A whole day of Xavier Basketball, does it get better? I guess they COULD open Club Blue at like 4:30 instead of 6 so we'd have a reason to stay on campus and eat and drink between games.

Anybody know if Ryan's is a viable option for between games?

Nice game today by the Muskies. BIG, BIG win over a very good Arizona State team. It seems like as a basketball team we have no stars but a lot of hard workers and a ton of talent. This team can be special!

I was impressed that Phillips didn't have her usual dominating game, yet the team won with relative ease in the 2nd half...Very impressive

Question for those regularly attend. How was today's attendance as compared to other games?

I would say that there was pretty many more people today than normal. It seemed like there were a lot more students as well. Plus, having the band there always helps. I think average last year for a women's games was around 1,400... and today we had 1,328. I'm pretty surprised by that number. There is not way that includes all the students/band/etc because it seemed like a lot more. There are always a couple games (ex: UC, and a day game for school kids) that really boost up the attendance average compared to what it actually is.

It got kind of iffy there at the beginning to second half. Something like XU 34 ASU 30. But Xavier went on a bit of a run and got a great win to put on the tourney resume.

I was in attendance yesterday, and I thought the team played extremely hard.

The defense was terrific and really bothered ASU the whole game. Just trying to hold onto the ball became a challenge for them. We had 15 steals!!

I thought Amber looked terrific. She showing no after-effects of the knee injury last year. She played extremely hard the whole game and really caused havoc on ASU's inside game, which was largely ineffective the whole game.

Katie Rutan-- Wow. What more is there to say about her? She looks like she is going to be a heck of a college player. What little momentum ASU seemed to have in the game was stolen away by either her 3 pointers or the 2 steals she had. Fantastic performance all around!!

The bad --- Special didn't have a very good game -- 8 turnovers. Way way too many for a PG. But I'm confident that she'll rebound in the next game.

Ta'shia had a good second half after being saddled with foul trouble in the 1st half.

We still commit a lot of very silly turnovers. I mean I know that you're trying to push the tempo, but some of the passes were just downright poor and ill-timed. We still need work in this area.

All in all, a very good performance against a very good team!

I truly believe one of the biggest differences between Top 25 teams in the women's game and other teams is ball pressure. Anytime Xavier plays a highly ranked team it is so obvious that the defensive ball pressure is so hard to get around. I think Special had problems yesterday because the girl guarding her had great defensive pressure and really messed Speical up. Barringer came in and did a wonderful job. I'm sure Special will be much stronger the remaining of the year.
