In case anyone was wondering, Parrom has a stress fracture in his foot and is out 4-8 weeks. Tough news for a freshman who was supposedly adjusting so well to a new system.

Who is this person you speak of? I don't remember anyone on Xavier's roster with that name. ;)

I feel bad for the kid....but not for the other person involved.

Early season injuries freshman year can really set back a kid's development. See: Graves, Walsh. The circumstances surrounding X and Parrom may not have turned out favorable, but I still wish him persoanl success (team success, not so much) in his collegiate career.

Luckily he attended the U of Lexus so getting a ride around campus shouldn't be too difficult.

Again with negative comments towards Walsh. He's played THREE games, two exhibition since he's came back, all with limited playing time. He's not the best, but let's not be so quick to judge his play until he can prove it some more.

Graves was a different story, and looking back after a couple of season, we can say that his set backs certainly didn't help him out with his career at Xavier. Walsh still have practically 4 full seasons to prove his point.

And in regards to Parrom being hurt? I never want to see anyone injured, let alone seriously. So I feel bad for Parrom.

But suck one, Sean, karma is a bitch. :D

Yeah, because it's good karma to pile on someone for something that's out of his control.

Ditto. I get no joy hearing a player is injured and, unless it happened during illegal activity, I have a lot of sympathy for the frustration this must bring.

Um, last time I checked he was going to X, Boy Wonder left for 'Zona, he backed out of his commitment, and chose 'Zona saying he wanted to play at a Lexus quality program. How was that out of his control? Now he's hurt and isn't playing. If that's not Karma I'm not sure what is. I'm just pointing it out, not piling on.

You guys are cruel. A kid decides to go elsewhere, and you have no sympathy when he gets hurt? Remind me to never do anything to irk you guys.

A stress fracture seems to be the norm nowadays for freshmen who aren't used to the daily grind of college basketball. Didn't Holloway also have a stresser last year too?

I hope he heals quickly and has a successful college career.

I HATE dayton.

I can't be happy about this. Eight months ago I was drooling thinking this was CJ Andersonson with a jump shot. Just cause some money grubbing coach made some crazy descisions and a kid blindly follows him doesn't change my good will towards Parrom.

I wasn't trying to dog on Walsh at all. I think he still has a fine chance to play meaningful minutes with X. But I also think he would be more developed right now if he did not get injured last year (just the extra time in practice or lifting is a difference).

His example was purely an example of a short term effect (compared to Graves' long term effect). The extra year could actually help him if he has the right attitude. Just depends on how he responds to the opportunity.

Well that sucks for him

But brings Zona 1 step closer to Sean being the first coach in 25 years to miss the tournament.

Very unfortunate for Kevin Parrom. He was doing very well and fighting for a starting spot. He's a very nice kid. They say he could be back around Christmas at the earliest, but it's really hard to tell how fast he will heal.

You do? I don't.

Walsh will never be a consistent presence in the Xavier rotation (unless 3-4 guys break their legs). I'm not dogging the kid...it's just a fact.

He's not better than who he is competing against or the new wealth of talent coming in.

He's played the third of a possible 140 games, so he'll get better.

Well, I could be wrong, but I believe that a Parrom is an old, old wooden ship used during the Civil War Era

Interesting how this refelects upon Sean. Chris Mack has already said Sean pushed TuTu too hard last year, probably leading to his stress fracture. Wonder if the pressure to succeed right away maybe caused this injury.

when looking at Walsh, I see a comparison to Dante. Dante his freshman year was often pressing when he was in there for a couple minutes, and sometimes looked lost at both ends of the court. Walsh is kind of the same way. I am confident that once he gets his feet wet and some game experience, like he has seen a little bit this year, we will see great improvement in his overall play. Watching him play this year against BG and SH, he looked more confident on the court, and like he knew what he was supposed to be doing.

Not everyone is ready to contribute right away, and for some of the players who can't, it can be a hard adjustment. I think that Walsh is making that adjustment, and by the end of the year, he will be another solid option off the bench, and the resemble the guy that we heard about as a recruit, a good defender with an above average shot.

I don't see that comparison at all. But to each their own.
