Not much respect for mid-majors in the coaches poll. Xavier comes in at number 15, its lowest ranking according to all the preseason polls that I've seen and no other mid major is ranked. Shame on the coaches. We'll have to prove them wrong!

Maybe some of the coaches have been put off by Xavier's lack of success in the NCAA Tournament of late - we'll have to wait and see. The A-10 is definitely a mid-major in the women's game, but there is no doubt that Xavier has the potential to get in and stay in the Top 10 for a good chunk of the season.

No respect, what's new? XU Women barely get noticed by the Cincinnati media, hope this year is different.

Realistically though, 15 as opposed to 10, not a ton of difference pre season.

I too think they have the ability to get to the top ten. they'll need to have that success right away, McGuff's pre conference schedule is the way to the promised land, if they come out of their 12 non conference games with 3 losses they'll certainly be top then. it is a tough schedule, but if they can run a transition offense along with the dominace they should have on the boards it is certainly do-able

Losing to a mediocre UC team the last few years has not helped their reputation. They will get their chance to prove themselves in the tournaments this year.

I don't see how it can be all that terrible though for losing to your biggest rival. I get where you are coming from though.
