Our fearless neighbors from the north had trouble with Ferris State tonight. I thought they had annointed themselves A-10 champs this season.

I looked at the box score and Chris Wright did not play. Interesting.....

Are you serious? Were you there on the same night your own team played?
C. Wright and M. Johnson didn't suit up at all. The walk ons got more PT then what they will total all year. We put a walk on in the game at 16:49 mark....of the first half! The game was never in doubt. It was a double digit lead the whole freaking game. Glad you stopped in to watch a UD game on the same night your own team was playing.

Just curious. Why didn't Wright and Johnson suit up? Nagging injuries or just Gregory giving them some rest?

Like a UD fan posting on an XU board right after UD played?

Except I happened to make to my team's game and home. We played at 7. I live 10 min from the Arena and on a night when most of the fans left early...due to the score, I got out of the lot in 5 seconds. Good crowd though...almost 12K, the most I've ever seen there for an exhibition game.
BTW, CW and MJ both warmed up so not injured. Either just rested or probably sick this week. Either way, neither one got injured tonight at least.
Correction: CW had a minor ankle tweak. MJ had recent death in family.

First, I am in no way minimizing (sp) the loss of a family member whatsoever, but why in the heck would a kid warm up then not play due to that? Seems like you would know well before gametime. Weird.
I HATE dayton.

I know there has been an unwritten rule around the BG camp that if you don't practice you don't play...now that being said, I'm sure rules can be bent for MJ and CW if they had to play. Most likely both would've played if this game had meant anything of significance to the UD season. Better just to sit them I suppose. Others got valuable minutes that might be needed later and I doubt CW or MJ would've improved a ton by playing Ferris St. All we missed was a highlight reel tonight...oh well.

Where did he say he was at the UD game? He could have been at Cintas watching X. We have this real neat modern scorecube with video panels that show, among other things, the scores of other games of interest. The UD game score was on the rotation of other scores.

"Trouble" is definitely a misnomer. Anytime Kurt Huelsman scores 15 points there can be no trouble.

hahaha. Good for him. Bad for Ferris State big men.
Although I looked at Huelsman's recruiting from back in the day. There were a lot of solid solid programs recruiting him. Did not expect that...
Anyways, Mo Egger says UD had 23 turnovers? Cubs, was that mostly from the backups late in the game during garbage time?

We had "only" 9 turnovers at the half. Obviously a ton more in the second half. The best way to put this game is looked more like an open practice to the public then an actual game.
We put in a walk on at the 16 min mark of the first half and he played his butt off for 17 min. The starting lineup was a lineup that consisted of LW, MP, CJ, DS, and KH...probably a combo we won't see again all season. Allot of the turnovers came in the second half when MP was running point and probably made 10 straight bad passes but the more I think about it today, he was trying to feed the post to our bigs and you could just see the miscommunication most of the time. Perry played an adequate PG last year for us so I'm not terribly worried. In most games he'll have CW and
MJ out there with him.
LW only had 2 of the 23 turnovers so he played solid. He was able to break down the mighty Bulldog D at will, probably because they forgot he doesn't shoot outside 14 feet.

I figured that it was in the 2nd half with the walk ons and stuff. thanks. I'm so ready for this season to begin!

I love when the amazing dayton fans come over here on this board using the Initials of the players instead of just writing their last names...it just bothers me

They easily had 7-8 turnovers on lob entry passes. Ferris went zone and fronted Huelsman and Searcy, and UD was consistently running a lob play, even though it failed about 65% of the time, mostly due to the passes being too long. It was like watching practice reps. They were just working on that play instead of passing around for an open shot. Towards the end they executed it for buckets or FTs about 4 straight times.
A lot of the other turnovers were lazy passes up top, and it really pissed Gregory off. They definitely got lazy and were just going through the motions for a 5-6 minute span which probably saw 5-6 turnovers. Guess we know what point he'll be hammering home in practice this week.

Which means it will work similarly to him hammering home FT shooting for 2 years (13-23 last night)
UD is such a sham. I can't wait to play those guys.

Relax Francis, I was at the game. There's this thing called wi-fi. Maybe it will come to UD soon.

It's worse when they blend the two and give us half of each. BRob is the sound my dogs make before they yak up something shouldn't have eaten, not the name of a ball player.

My original post was sarcasm laced if you couldn't catch that....You could've been over N. Korea for all I know. I just once again find it comical that in the middle of an X game I find a post over here about how the team up north is "struggling" in an exhibition game. I can't find one thread or post on UDPride about X's game last night.

I'm sure one of the McDonalds in the community north of Hamilton, Ohio has Wi-Fi.

Whats even more "comical" is that you are still over here on our board talking about how sad and pathetic we are for noticing a score of our conference rival 24 hours later! I don't know about anyone else, but I will make sure the next time they show the out of town scoreboard at cintas during a time out that I will make sure I either close my eyes or look away!
