Why do their fans even care about us?
I admit, last February I bought the "Sports Tier" on cable to watch a couple of our games that were on CSTV, that package adds a bunch of Fox Sports channels, I do plan on watching a few Arizona games.

For a "big time" program, they sure are obsessed with us.
None of this will matter when Mack outperforms Miller in the next few years.

That's why I don't even bother going over to sites of other schools. The only thing I know about Arizona is that Lute Olsen used to coach there... and one of the most annoying wrap-up lines in NCAA Championship History. "Simon says Championship".

If anything I would think that Arizona fans would want to praise our program.
Why are you bashing a program that your current head coach coached at? What does that say about them that their big hiring coup was to get a coach from a program that apparently sucks?
Pure genius out there in AZ.

Its funny that they say there is higher crime when if you compare the two cities cincinnati and tucson both have the same rate.

Consider this, Sporting News has another Mike DeCourcy tidbit about the now wonderful AZ program.
I have been Soured on Sean since the "Never win a National Championship," and the Buick-Lexus comment to a pirated recruit. Now this and the SN blurb.
The most irritating thing of all is Sean has not even made an attempt to squelch that kind of shit. Sooner or later it will come back to bite him in the ass. I don't wish him ill, but I'm sick of seeing all this regurgitation spewed out of Tucson. :(:(

Maybe they are just a little more reasonable on the Rivals board for Arizona but I have found them to be mostly complimentary of the Xavier Program on that board. Praising us for the programs continued success and hoping as many people as possible followed Miller because of the quality of the people involved in the Xavier program. Of course there was the typical weather jab but a little jabbing is to be expected. They had even been following up on our recruiting and commented on how the program hasn't missed a beat.

looking over the recruiting news, Miller has done a great job at attracting some really good players.
But not the great players that UCLA/Kansas/kentucky are attracting. Arizona fans want more than sweet 16's and elite 8's. I wonder how it will all turn out.

Ya know, the weather in Cincy is still mild compared to a lot of the true northern parts of this country. But it goes both ways. I have a friend that's from Rochester, New York and he thinks of Cincy in the same way we think of Alabama or any other deep south state. He considers Columbus the beginning of the south and clearly that's just stupid. it's all about perception people.
As opposed to Thad going just 2 hours north it almost feels like Miller went to a foreign country. Arizona is thousands of miles away from Cincy. It's just hard for me put it into perspective. I've never been to Arizona and can't imagine I'll be there anytime soon, if ever.

Do you guys think Miller will open up the Offense if he has guys that can really score like Nic Wise or MOMO, and others
Cause i saw some of your games on Replay over the summer ( One was that Virginia Tech "Buzzer beater" ) and saw the Memphis game and some youtube clips
I noticed X had great Defense but kind of Controlled Motion O. So i was wondering if Miller had to play that way because he didn't have a "Offensive Wonderkid" to score all over the place.. Or because he actually likes to run a Controlled Offensive set.
Miller Claims that he is going to Run UpTempo at ARIZONA. Did he consider your Last years team an UP Tempo team?

Not sure what Memphis buzzer beater you watched. Memphis led 1-0 for literally less than 30 seconds and then Xavier controlled the game -- leading the entire game after that except for two brief ties in the second half.

What's up with the random bold text and capitalization? Are you schizophrenic or someone who just likes to shout periodically during conversations?

I wanted to address some of the things in this thread. I've read some of the scout boards and realize how terrible the information is they receive and just how uninformed the posters are as a whole. Don't go by the scout boards...they are pretty much idiots. Most on rivals followed the situation very closely, have a very high level of respect for your program, and can understand your frustration towards Miller's decision to leave Xavier.
There are idiots in every fan base and everywhere period. Don't let a few idiots get you fired up. You guys know what's going on at Xavier. I try to do my best to follow X and come on here and address questions or statements. I will root for Xavier no matter what a few Xavier fans say negative about Arizona or Miller, because most of the interactions I've had with X fans has been great. I do apologize for the idiocy of the Arizona faithful who speak from their ass and not based off of factual information.

What's with Xavier fans that are obsessed enough to read Arizona's boards then post it back on the Xavier site?
I read the first post on your link. Maybe there's more bashing if I keep reading, but I wouldn't consider the first post a bash. It basicially said Miller was a great recruiter at X and it seems like we have more to offer in these areas...
Frankly, I can't really argue with that logic from their side.

The rest of that thread is actually Arizona fans bickering with each other about the "facts" in the first post. Nothing was said that I would consider a big slight on Xavier, but he also wasn't very concerned about facts in his post either. Thsi is what was posted for those who could care less about clicking the link.
Scenario 1:
Sean Miller: "Hi, I'm Sean Miller, head basketball coach at a small Jesuit College in Cincinnati, where it's really cold in the winter, muggy and buggy in the summer, and dangerous downtown. But we've been to two or three "sweet sixteens" and an "elite 8". I'm offering you a full scholarship. What do you say?"
Recruit: "I'll think about it"
Scenario 2:
Sean Miller: "Hi, I'm Sean Miller, head basketball coach at the University of Arizona in Tucson, where the weather is a little warm in the summer but beautiful all winter ... just like the coeds, ya know ... warm and beautiful. We've been to 23 consecutive NCAA tournaments, four final fours, and have won a national championship. We have more former players in the NBA than any other college (I think). I have a pretty good track record at a small Jesuit college in Cincinnati where we went to two or three sweet sixteens and an elite 8, and I'm putting together a program here at the UofA which I think can win a national championship. You would be a key element in that. I'm offering you a full scholarship. What do you say?"
Recruit: "where do I sign?"
He didn't go out of his way to slight Xavier, he was more pumping up Arizona. However, he could have been classier and said Xavier by name each time he posted. It does pump up the accomplishments of X in my opinion. I think what Xavier has been able to do is fantastic. It's better than Arizona has done in the same time span.

I come on here, but I am trying to be helpful. I'm also a new fan of Xavier due to how highly Sean speaks of Xavier and how most X fans handled the situation when Miller left. I now live in Pennsylvania and would like to make a few games if I can and root for Xavier. I don't think the op is obsessed, I just think he's pissed off at Sean and Arizona, and he's finding reasons to feed his anger. Not abnormal behavior. I do the same thing with the Yankees. I'm a pretty level headed guy, but I despise the Yankees. Can you tell who I root for? I love my Sox. If you didn't root for the Sox at my house...you didn't eat.

I think anybody who goes to other sites, other than their own team consistently, especially posting, has some major issues.
I have a problem with my own self (so does my wife) that I'm on three message boards, yappi, xavierhoops, and jungle noiise.
If you go to other teams, thats just absolutely no time, no life, or some i don't even know what to call it.

I already explained why I come on here and post. I'm on Rivals, Here, and Scout (just recently). I went on scout because somebody posted a link and it was related to Arizona and Daniel Bejarano an Arizona commitment. I've been on there a grand total of 3 times. Before a few days ago, I hadn't been on this site since August. I thought I could be helpful by giving some input on some of these questions/topics.
Look at the topics I post in. They usually have something to do with Arizona or a recruit of Arizona. Sometimes it's nice when others take time out of their day to try to help out others. I know a lot about what is going on with some of these recruits and feel I can be helpful to X fans. I'm not here to stir things up or irritate. I like Xavier and I'm interested in catching some games this year.

Your "helpfulness" is questionable. Many, many posters here belong to Rivals as well. But Rivals info is proprietary. We ask posters here not to post insider/pay information from Rivals. That's why it might seem the whole story isn't told in some of these threads. It's out of respect for Rivals. Other times, whether it is the coaches or recruit that has moved on, only serves to stir angst. Ultimately, my feeling is that we don't need for you to help us bumpkins with recruiting info most of us are already aware of.

Who said anything about bumpkins? I'm also not trying to stir angst on this board in any shape or form. Maybe you should look at who starts the fights around the board and who resorts to saying ignorant things to others.

You haven't given us any information 95% of the people didn't already know. And the 5% that doesn't know is because they haven't paid for it. Bottom line, you're no insider. So exactly how are you helping us?

Ok, how is anybody on here helping anybody? I try to give insight when I can on some questions/topics just like everybody else. My point was that I was trying to be helpful not irritate others. Some information, like somebody said has to stay on premium, but there is plent of other sources out there I may have read that others have not. I try to give my input on some of the recruitments that are mentioned and when Arizona is mentioned I try to fill in some blanks. I don't think you are clueless, a bumpkin, or that I'm better than you in any way. If I came off that way, it's definately not what I was trying to accomplish.

What do I and Miller disagree on? It will be tough to make the tournament this year with all the inexperience, but I really do believe we can. However, if we don't make it, we don't make it. I'd hate to see the streak end, but that's not something I can blame on 5 freshman and the few players left over from last year. I'd be ecsatic if they make it, but if they don't, it doesn't mean the season is an automatic failure in my opinion. As long as there is marked improvement and the team is better by the end of the season, I'll be happy.
Miller will is our 4th coach in 4 seasons, so it's kind of hard to put those types of expectations on somebody after all the turmoil. I think somebody on here called it a circus and they were basically correct. If you meant the comment about more things going on in Cincy, I'm not disagreeing with that either. UofA basketball is the number one thing in Tucson and that can be a good thing and a bad thing. I really don't have anything to disagree with that article about. I know it's possible for us to make the tournament, but I'm not gonna be angry if we don't make the tournament. I've never actually been to Cincy, but I've been to Columbus, Cleveland, and some other places in Ohio. I know there are more things going on in Cincy.
