St. Joe's 2010 class is very strong, close to that of X or UD.

Have to agree about St. Joe's... I know they have at least two Top150s on board for 2010. I don't know if the team will be there from a competition standpoint for a few more years, but recruiting-wise, they've locked up a few good gets.

At one point all 3 guys were in the Rivals 150... I'm not sure how Rivals handles unraked 3 stars, but I'm sure that Quarles is better than most others.

Guyn re-opens recruitment

Scott County High School shooting guard Ge-lawn Guyn, one of the top candidates for Kentucky's Mr. Basketball honors this season, is looking for a college again.

Guyn committed to Charlotte and coach Bobby Lutz in the spring but told The Courier-Journal tonight that he was going to "re-open the recruiting process."

"I feel like I made a decision too quick and didn't think it all the way through," Guyn said. "It all boils down to me and what I think is best, I have to go to school there. I just think I went too fast and needed to look around a little more."

The 6-foot-4 Guyn, who picked Charlotte over Western Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana and others, said he was not going to make a list of schools for a few weeks. He said he's already received several calls, including one from Northwestern.

"I'm going to open it up to eveyrbody," Guyn said. "A lot of schools have called but I am going to wait for a few weeks and see what happens."

Add Sam Mills to La Salle. Not ranked by Rivals, but Scout does have him ranked. I don't know, he's supposed to be good. If Giannini likes him, I'm sure he's pretty good.

If we're recruiting actively for 2010, that probably doesn't bode well for a second campaign with Crawford. That blows.

We're already one scholarship over for next year, so I don't think Crawford has much to do with it.

At least one maybe two guys will transfer at years end in my opinion. If Xavier can land a really good player in 2010 they will take him and make it work. They are recruiting this guy out of Virginia, formally of Chicago. Apparently at one time he was the #1 player in Chicago. Don't know much else about him and what the heck is Heat Basketball Academy. How can that be a school?

I would love to add another big man for 2010 if possible. We really need more size in the post as Frease will be a JR next season. We need more depth at the 4 and 5 spots.

I'm really worried about our inside scoring ability next year. Will we have a consistent offensive threat down low?

I think Frease was right at that mark depending on what source you looked at. Additionally, Lloyd Price and Odia Churchill were very highly regarded. Not sure if they were that high, but I tink they may have been.
