Favorite time of year beer wise. I usually don't go for lagers but do love a good Marzen Octoberfest. I also like some of the ales, although I don't do the pumpkin thing.

I always stand by the Paulaner as my favorite Octoberfest. It is actually now available year round tho I restrict myself to fall consumption. The Harpoon is delciious. As is the Bell's.

I mistakenly had the Spaten Munich when I thought I was getting the Beck's Octoberfest. It was disgusting.

For the autumn ales I recommend Southern Tier's Harvest Ale. It is an Oktoberfest/IPA hybrid and is very tasty; pick it up. The Wyerbacher ale is interesting, but I really like that Southern Tier.

Kroger has Erdinger Octoberfest for $9. Anybody had this?

My autumnal (winter, spring, and summer) drink of choice is Bushmills with the black label (i.e. "Black Bush").

I'm not ready for fall beers yet, but yet I'm burnt out on summer beers.

I'm interested in the Southern Tier though. Might have to hunt that down. Name doesn't ring a bell.

Erdinger is pretty solid... Their Oktoberfest has a bit of a dunkel weiss feel to it. If you do not want to invest in the six pack, they usually have an Erdinger booth at Oktoberfest Zinzinnati so you could try it next weekend... then again, that may actually be more of an investment than the sixer.

Southern Tier's IPA is good, so I'll give the Oktoberfest/IPA a shot. Thanks for the heads up.

Bell's Oktoberfest is the shit. I've already been through four or five 6 packs of it. Maybe that says more about me than it does the particular beer. It's good though.

I burn up about a case a week of Sam Adams Octoberfest Sept 1.-Nov 15th. 2-3/day on the weekdays and more on the weekend. I love the stuff....and I get to go home in an hour and have a couple...

November 15th starts wine, bourbon and christmas ales season

Who carries the Southern Tier harvest? Biggs didn't have it. I might try Dutch's.

Once again I'm reminded of why Ballyhoohoo is one of my favorites on the board. Although that post didn't quite top the live chat on NBA Draft night.

(FYI - I actually typed Zima originally, but figured the white zin would fancy pants it up a little more!)

Was that the night I was cursing Stern for the Dar-ron Collison announcment? Placing him on the Bilas list?

On a beer note, I have been getting into dogfish head stuff, the Midas touch is very good.

Just picked up some Sam Adams Octoberfest while at the grocery store.

Was at a family wedding back in August where they had plenty of Octoberfest. I had it all to myself since everyone else was drinking Miller Lite. Whatever. Felt strange to be drinking the beer in the throws of summer, but good beer is good beer.

Few things are better than good beer and football in the fall.

Yep. It was also the night I was ripping Danny Ferry for passing on D.Brown so he could draft someone from the freakin' Congo! That whole night was just nuts.
