10 Sophomores to Watch
As the offseason continues, College Chalktalk surveys the Atlantic 10 landscape, this week spotlighting sophomores from around the conference.
While none of these sophs could be found on the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team at the end of the 2008-09 season, they’ll all be counted upon in varying degrees to fill voids left by the graduation and transfer of others. Whether replacing the best point guard in the conference or living up to lofty expectations that initially came with the signing of a letter of intent, these 10 sophomores have something to prove in 2009-10 and beyond.

Unfortunately nearly every media outlet is writting us off as dead...
I'm glad Chris Mack is implementing this "Chip on their shoulder" mentality. Because they are not getting much respect this offseason. (To be fair, we did lose 3 very productive players.) But still, we are gonna be just fine

According to what appears to be an edit/addition to the article (it appears in bold at the bottom of the article), each school has only one player in the list so we are not being written off or counted for dead by this article.

I like the comparison of Redford to Jimmy Baron in the article. I would love to see a shootout between the two. My money is not on the coach's son.

I don't like this list because it claims I should be watching Fordham.

I'm pretty excited to see how Jaun fernandez has progressed from his frosh to soph seasons. He has potential to be a stud down the line...

Yeah, funny how they go by "FU".

No one is surprised that Redford was listed and not Frease ? I think we need Frease to develop and blossom before we need Redford....we're loaded at guard and have lots of options.......we're not so lucky in the post.

Remember what happened last year when XU was loaded with guards and then Lyons and Crawford weren't eligible and Walsh was injured.
I'm not surprised that Redford was selected. He works his butt off and is shooting 1000 baskets a day making over 90% of them. He also is up to 187 pounds with strength training. He also just broke the school record for a basketball player running the mile, so the extra weight hasn't affected his speed.
With the change of coaching and players there is going to be a big difference. Crawford has said that he will be looking for Brad when he gets boxed in. Frease and DJ already were doing that.

Yes, I would think they will be looking for Brad a lot more this year, but in the right situation. With JC, Cheeks and Tutu running all over the floor all the time, there will be shots for everyone.
