But if I recall correctly, I believe he will be able to play right away. If he didn't want to lose a year of eligibility, he would have had to transfer down (like he did).

I agree. This should let him play right away. What I don't know is whether he'd have to sit out a year if he transfers back to another Div. I school next year.

But wouldn't he be eligible this upcoming season even if he stayed at BGSU?

Or maybe I'm misunderstanding something...

Me thinks that the reason why Adrion is transferring again- this time to an NAIA school, has much to do with the same reason why he transferred from Xavier. It had, and most probably now has, nothing to do with the coaching staff, being "recruited over" or anything of the sort. There were many who were quick to jump all over the former coaching staff for, in their opinion, "screwing him over." While there are many reasons to dump on the former coach, that situation was certainly not one of them.

Good luck to Adrion. He's had some tough knocks and has some things to work on. I hope that this latest move helps him get what he wants to get from life.

Yeah, he would have. I was just going under the assumption that he really wanted to transfer, for whatever the reason, and this was the only way that would happen and still let him play for four seasons.

He just doesn't seem to be able to find a fit anywhere. Hopefully he finds what he is looking for.
