He is a righteous dude. Very few top Fred Garvin in my book.

Guyfawkes is who he is, and I am just not a fan. Others seem to like him for some reason, but I would take the wit and prose of Fred Garvin over guyfawkes any day of the week.

The Fred Garvin mystique and aura have been built through years and on numerous venues. GFawkes, at this point anyway, can only hope to gradually and excruciatingly work to a tertiary position.

Oasis? While Oasis has been linked as a "Beatle Tribute" band, me thinks that Guy is more

I honestly haven't read many of Fred's posts from his MM or early XH days. I'm relatively new to the X boards.

To be perfectly honest, I don't read many posts on XH from anyone. My philosophy is to post first and, if I have time, read later.

On a side note, it's stupid how the majority of posts on XH come from 8 people (yes, I'm one on them). Posting is much more fun than reading all of the BS written on this board. Yet 8 people who have been posting for a decade monopolize the conversation on this board. It's not healthy.

Of course, I think I'm awesome. So much so that I like to quote myself more than anyone else on this board. I don't do that to be ironic. I quote myself because I look towards myself for wisdom.

I'm most proud of being a voice of reason towards Miller in the "glory days". While many posters on this board wished they were women so could have sex with Miller and have his kids, I remained critical.

I'm trying to be more modest on this board. Am I Jesus? No. Am I better than most posters? well, yes. Do I still not like kids at Cintas? Yes.

The smack forum, like communism, works in theory but is an utter disaster in reality. One of the reasons I came to this board after having mostly sat out since the days of Pablo's board was because I noticed there was a smack forum here, but now, I rarely if ever check it. The only reason I checked this time is because I saw the title of the thread.

Let me reiterate a point I've made before, as have Kahn's, Fred and others. This smack forum is pathetic. PATHETIC. This place is about as brutal as a three way war between Jamaica, Canada, and Australia. It's as masculine as a fanny pack full of dildos. I'd be more entertained weeding my garden while listening to Ben Stein recite a Protestant sermon on my iPod than I'd be by clicking on one of the threads in this forum. I haven't experienced so much disappointment since Rocky V.

And why you ask? Why has the House of Smack become the House of Jack? Because our otherwise admirable moderators continue to allow our resident rodent to run freely in its fields. The doctors know where the tumor is yet they refuse to remove it. The only reasonable explanation is that they WANT this forum to die. Well if less smack is what you're asking for, I can understand that, but I won't be taking part in it. I'll just be pulling a Ghandi and go on strike until something relevant appears around here. Many of us graduated this level of smack before our First Communions, yet this forum is still reserved for those who never got off the short bus. So be it.

I've already attempted this once and I gained no steam from you posers, but I will do so a final time as an act of desperation. Ban Guy Fawkes from this forum! Suspend him until he proves he can play with the big boys. Do him like Manny and make him sit out and think about what he's done. If you won't give me that, at least do us all a favor and change the name of the forum to something more appropriate. Perhaps the "House of Politely Addressing Answers to Lame Questions Without the Risk of Offending Those Involved in the Confabulation" would suffice.

I once heard Roger Ebert argue that any idiot director and writer can make a drama and be lauded by movie critics and their peers. On the other hand, making a good comedy is a tougher challenge. You have to be brilliant to write and direct a good comedy.

That's sort of my attitude towards Radiohead and Oasis. I don't think Radiohead is bad (I enjoy a listen every once in a while). But they do play perfectly packaged material for the critics and snobby music fans.

When it comes down to it, Oasis wrote better music than Radiohead (forget about what the critics claim, and play "Morning Glory" right after "OK Computer". It's not even close).

I was talking smack about a guy who has been bringing it weak in the one section of this site where the gloves are allowed to be completely off. I made no attempt to try to be intellectual and I can't see where you may have thought I was. I was talking shit. If you don't like it, talk shit back. This is the place you can do it.

I wouldn't be posting in this thread if I wasn't trying to get other posters to take shots back. That is how the smack game is played as far as I'm concerned and I'm just looking for a playmate who can keep up. It's obviously not you, fine, but if you are taking offense or viewing it as some sort of arrogance I may have about my intellect, which by the way is superb, then you clearly don't know what part of the board you're reading.

And for what it's worth, there are a small minority of posters who I get the impression think they are so much smarter than everyone or never wrong. Usually they get shit on. "things" ? I wasn't aware of any other conflicts between us. I'm actually a good guy who considers himself a true "Independent" politically. I'm neither liberal or conservative and yet both on many of the issues. I can only explain it as I'm not as conservative as I dress and I'm not as liberal as I sound.

I'm not sure what I want to be when I grow up too. Gotta run.
