View Full Version : Obama Orders Cheeseburger Medium Well

The 800 billion dollar stimulus disturbed me. Obama's outrageously expensive long term budget angered me.

But this put me over the top (from the Wapost: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/05/05/AR2009050503816.html):

Obama tilted his head to read the menu, but took a pass on Ray's specialty burgers, like the "Let's Get It On," or the $17.50 burger with foie gras and white truffle oil. Obama, customer No. 42, opted for something more simple: "Your basic cheddar cheeseburger, medium well."

Who in their right mind orders a cheeseburger from a well known establishment medium well? Who would go to Arthur's or Terry's Turf Club and ruin a cheeseburger like that.

Bottom line: Obama is a phony. Today he wanted to appear like the "common man" but it backfired and we really see him for what he is.

Obama should be honest with us and head to Whole Foods next time he wants to eat outside of the White House.

I think Obama went to Ben's Chili Bowl here once and didn't order the chili. Which sort of defeats the purpose of going to Ben's Chili Bowl unless you are going with your friends at 4 in the morning after a night of rejecting women who throw themselves at you two at a time.

I have stanards.

Seriously, this is a thread? Amazing.

And you're somehow surprised? Amazing.

On the sarcasm/silly/goofy/downright creepy meter..this thread doesn't even register a reading in the annals of this board...

What I find amazing is that most people don't know what a half smoke is.

I haven't been to DC in a while and even I know what a half smoke is. Obama should have been briefed on the matter.

The case against Obama grows...

I'm surprised there's not more outrage about this.

The undeniable fact is that people who like cheeseburgers don't order them medium well from a fine dining establishment (at the very least they should be ordered medium rare).

The bottom line: Obama doesn't like cheeseburgers. It's an ugly fact but there's no denying it.

There are rumors swirling that Obama hates apple pie.

Now here is a good, cheeseburger loving Demi-President

eats cheeseburgers... only makes him stronger

Any doneness level above medium rare is for pussies.

George Bush doesn't care about black people. Obama doesn't care about cheeseburgers. When are we going to find a nurturing president?

Is it possible that the super-top-secret files indicate that President Bush suffers from Mad Cow disease and President Obama is trying to not subject himself to a similar fate?

But can you get ill handling the super-top-secret files Sandy Berger shoved down his pants?

That has to be about all that's been down Sandy's pants in the past 15 years. Sandy Berger is among the planet's grossest individuals so I would be inclined to answer yes. I'd rather contract swine flu with no vaccince than anything I'd be capable of getting from Sandy.

Fred looks like the Capital Police found those files hidden down Sandy's drawers. Wonder if Hillary, or Bill for that matter, ever wondered about being in Sandy's drawers?

(sorry. At "friends", the analogy broke down. Don't get me started on "women".)

I am told and have personally found it to be true that any hamburger, cheeseburger or what-have-you burger cooked anyway but WELL DONE is dangerous to your health . Seriously, this time I being honest with youze.
Sorry, purists, but there are two things I never eat any way but well done--pork and hamburger.
Steak, almost any kind, medium to medium rare.
But pork and hamburger, WELL and no other way. Makes me sick to even talk about it and yes, I did get deathly sick years ago eating a medium to medium rare hamburger. Never again, ever.:D:D:D:D

q, I would have to quit eating burgers if that was the case. To dry and boring. In my world I would be better off trying to eat the charcoal than a well done burger.

My foks always served raw uncooked chopped sirloin on small slices of rye bread w/ chopped onions and a little salt & pepper for New Year's Eve as an appetizer. I never once got sick from eating it and it was delicious. Just saying.

Didn't DAllen vote for Obama? I think we are seeing a pattern here...

Q is technically correct. Bacteria grows on the outside of a cut of meat. Cooking kills bacteria. Grinding meat takes the bacteria from the outer surface of the meat and puts it everywhere, including the inside of the burger. In a medium rare burger, the inside of the burger may not get hot enough to kill the bacteria.

That's where the reputation of a place becomes very important. If you know you're not going to be killing all bacteria present, you want to take steps to have the smallest chance of harmful bacteria on the outside of the meat (or on the meat processing equipment) in the first place.

I am willing to take the elevated risk of getting sick from a medium to medium rare burger because that's how I prefer them.
