First Calipari tweeted and now Crean:

There's no question in my mind now: Mack needs to Tweet. The balls in his court. You can either embrace the 21st century or hide in a cave. So far, Mack has chosen to hide in a cave.

I wonder if Guy would "tweet" more if he'd have less time to post here.

We can only wish!

And Miller's just a twit.

Perfect solution:

Mack signs up on Twitter
Guy drowns himself in the nearest body of water.

Everyone wins!

I did the same thing. I didn't want to, but I had to give in.

I think that Guy needs to Tweet. I want to follow Guy Fawkes on a daily basis. I want to know when he is driving to work. I want to know what he is doing on vacation.

As far as Mack on twitter, I actually don't think it is a bad idea. It could get him into trouble though. Why open up a venue where you could instantly react and say something offensive and get you into trouble? I don't think he would get into trouble, just that twitter has the possiblities. Once you say something you really can't take it back on the internet.

I would be for Mack using twitter. If he did, I bet it would hit this board and everyone would read it.

I haven't checked the other coaches out Guy. I wonder what they are tweeting about. Twitter seems so stupid to me at first, but I think it may have some useful applications. I read the article you linked to, and the updates didn't seem interesting to me. But I am not an IU fan. If it was a Xavier coach, I would read what our coach said. You better believe that most of the people here would.

What about after a loss though? Coaches are emotional and they get frustrated. Sean Miller may still be our coach had we pulled out the Pitt game. That loss probably sent him packing in my opinion. They can say things in the heat of the moment that they would regret later. And what if the tweet about the officials? They might get fined.

I need to check out Calipari's twitter. He has quite a following among UK fans. He loves attention and the press. I think he is going to eat it up in Lexington and build a National Champion. He is a natural for any venue that includes self promotion.

Weighing the pros and the cons I think Mack should consider it. It is a unique way to get the word directly to the Muskie masses, and I don't think that is a bad thing. He could tweet about how hard Jason Love played on defense or highlight something that the press may not cover. In this day and age you have an opportunity to make your own press to some degree, and every coach is a salesman.

I support Guy's idea. I don't see anything wrong with it.

I agree completely with Snipe.

It's a revolution thta can't be stopped.

Calipari puts forth a lot of words of wisdom. Today he tweeted:

Read a chapter or 2 when u wake up and b4 u go 2 bed. Read what interests u and it will make u wiser. Did u do that 2day?

That's brilliant, inspirational stuff. Calipari is taking Kentucky to the top one Twitter post at a time.

Snipe, the revolution will be twitted. There's no doubt about that.

I am noticing a lot more NCAA coaches coming aboard the twitter bandwagon, so I gotta agree with guy, Mack should join.

And a baseless opinion at that.

I base that opinion on the fact that we lost the game. Had we won the game, I think he would have thought differently. Am I wrong? Perhaps, but I don't think it is baseless.

McGuff twitters...or tweets or whatever...http://twitter.com/coachmcguff

as does Stan Burrell (http://twitter.com/Sburrell34/) Brian Thornton (http://twitter.com/BrianThornton2), Mario Mercurio (http://twitter.com/MarioMercurio) and the Blue Blob (http://twitter.com/XUBlueBlob). Come on Coach Mack, time to join the revolution!

If we had won the Pitt game, things would have been different. No one would have been surprised to see Miller go.

awesome. A couple months ago, who would have thought that the Xavier nation would embrace Twitter so much.

It really seems like Mack loves to Tweet.

Tweeting is perfect for such moments like Mack expressed this morning:

CoachChrisMack: 4am wake-up calls are waking up in the middle of the night having no idea who and where you are. Help...

ha, yes, that's a strange feeling that most travelers feel frequently.
