"Miller didn't make the decision lightly, recognizing that his choice would affect countless people -- his Xavier players, families, administrators, assistant coaches and fans.
In other words he was patient and deliberate, thoughtful and calm, the ideal combination of traits to steer right the Arizona ship."
ugh.

Kind of makes me feel queasy reading that. I couldn't make it all the way through and had to start skimming. I appreaciate the time Miller was at X, bummed he is gone and look forward with anticipation to the Mack/Kelsey era. I'm ready for some of our recruits to setlle down and re-commit to the great program we are and I'm ready for the ball to be thrown in the air again. Xavier is bigger than one coach, but I did like him. I'm sure he will do fine at AZ but I'm much more passionate about Xavier's success moving forward.

I didn't want to start another thread for this, but it looks like Sean might be on the inside track for Lance Stephenson. The article says that he has narrowed it down to Arizona and Memphis while eliminating St. Johns and Maryland. Book is doing the recruiting on this one. Just awesome news to hear.

Sean Miller is the coach of Arizona. Put Sean Miller articles in Around the NCAA. That way the people who don't want to read about the Coach of Arizona don't have to wade through the crap on the men's basketball forum.

I really hope Sean loses about 4000 games next season.

...and his hair.
There are a lot of Xavier fans who won't be able to let Sean go. I know the rabid Sean haters (you know who you are) will never be able to move on, any more than they've been able to move on from Thad.
5 years from now there are still Xavier fans who will be calling Sean names, challenging his ethics, and hoping for him to fail professionally and personally.
As long as we can keep the Sean-bashing to a minimum ...

I think we need some time on this. I mean all of this happened within the past month. Now, calling Sean names, all of that jazz is really childish and uncalled for, but I think we will eventually move on.

I hope Sean gets the Swine flu. I hope he has to coach every game next year wearing a surgical mask.

Then how would the AZ fans get to see that non-stop coughing he does? One of these days he'll cough up that damn hairball and it will be glorious to see!

I will be totally honest. I wish Sean and his family the absolute best with their personal lives. I hope they have a nice transition to AZ. It will probably be difficult if, as he often claimed, they really loved living in Cincinnati. But hopefully they are happy.
Now, professionally, I hope he falls on his face. I don't think he will because he is a good coach. That's why so many are upset he's not around anymore (along with the way it went down). But if the Arizona program falls into NCAA purgatory, I'll be very happy. I want the "you can't win it at Xavier" mentality to end and, if Miller blows it at 'zona it will be further proof that X offers a top-notch, elite opportunity for players and coaches.

Matta leaving was good practice for me. I held onto my rancor about that situation for way too long. This time I am going to handle it differently. I don't feel much better about it, but I understand the risks better that come with rooting for Xavier.

I freely admit i have issues. I've made over 600 posts on a message board where i only know three other people who post on here. I mean that's weird right? I don't know. We're just fans. Who cares if we call him names on here? I'm really bummed about him leaving. I don't think that's gonna change till I go back to the Cintas Center next season.

I'm bummed that he is gone but I wish them the best. No one expected him to be around here forever. We all knew that 15 year contract or whatever wasn't going to be seen all the way through. I don't think he was actively searching for another job or anything and that he really did love Xavier while he was here and really struggled with the decision. I was really upset that he left but he and his family thought it was the best decision for him. I wish him luck at Arizona and I think he is going to turn Arizona into a big time player in about 2 years. I would love to prove him wrong and meet him in the Final Four in a few years and beat him though to prove that Xavier is a program where Final Fours and National Championships are attainable. I'm not going to change my opinon of him just because he changed jobs because he thought it would further his career.

I want to see Chris Mack take this team to its first final four and I hope that in that same year, Arizona falls out in the first round of the NIT. I want to see a 5 Star Mike Conley/Greg Oden combo come to Xavier, obviously for all four years because we don't take one and dones, because they believe they can win a championship here. I want to see Kyryl take a knee injury like Joe Theissman. I want Amber Stocks Whitford to leave James Whitford because she'd rather coach Xavier Women's Basketball. I want Book to be implicated in a recruiting scandal from his AAU Coaching days. For every word broken, I want a bone broken right next to it.
Come on, you Muskies! A-10 2010 Regular Season and Conference Champions!

This is a debate for another day, but I think if the situation presented itself, we would certainly take a recruit that most are calling a one and done if he wanted to play for Mack.

Georgetown takes them? Aren't they a Jesuit institution with a better academic reputation than Xavier? If X could get a John Wall type of player I hope they wouldn't turn him down.

Xsteve has a point...Georgetown has a better reputation then us, both academically and basketball wise. So where is the issue? We need to recruit players to help the program win...Georgetown hasn't suffered academically b/c of Iverson and other players...where is the issue???
