is anybody else watching this championship game?? that was an absolutely unbelievable ending to regulation.
miami was up 3-1 in the final minute. boston had started pulling their goalie with over 3 minutes left and then finally scored to make it 3-2 with 40 or 50 seconds left. then they scored again with 17 seconds to tie it.
2 goals with less than a minute left in the third period to send it into OT. i'm not a hockey fan by any means, but that was exceptionally cool. Boston has all of the momentum heading into OT, but hopefully miami can pull this out.

I'm watching. Good thing they take an intermission, or else BU's momentum would have ended it pretty quickly in sudden death OT.

that ending was ridiculous. Boston gets everything this decade.

That really sucks for Miami. Goalie never saw it. I hate all Boston sports teams - now have to add BU to the list.

they really do. i'm sick of all boston sports....football, baseball, basketball, hockey...just let some other cities win every once in a while

I agree. or the city of Boston is just......well........that good.
If the Celtics, Red Sox, or Patriots win these upcoming postseasons I officially will not be able to handle it. They will see more championships in one decade then I will in 3 lifetimes as a Cincinnati pro sports fan.

I was pulling hard for Miami. Not much of a hockey fan (enjoy a couple games a season) , but I went to several Miami games a year back in the day. So much fun in their tiny old arena. Haven't seen the new one. With the Bombers folding up here, I'm going to make a point to get to Oxford a couple of times next year.

So why is it, or how is it, that Miami is so good at hockey?

If XU ever loses in the National Championship that way, I think that would be about it for me.

I feel bad for them. They were less than a minute away from the first national championship ever to happen at Miami.

But make one thing clear. Those Miami kids did not choke. Pulling a goalie with 3:30 minutes left and trailing 3-1, the odds on that succeeding are about 1 in 60. The Bemiedji coach did the same thing Thursday night and Miami scored into an empty net with 2:40 or so to play.
Miami was too concerned last night with trying to score into the empty net and didn't clear the puck when they had the chance right before that first goal (3-2) was scored. They had trouble winning face offs all night and lost one just before the second and tying goal was scored.
It's a helluva way to lose a championship, but sometimes sh!t happens.:D

Wow, I just saw the game replayed on ESPN2 and I cant believe they lost that. Crazy. Miami had a couple chances to clear before the 1st goal but didnt get it done. Crazy.

If you guys had flipped over to ESPN2, you could have caught the NCAA women's bowling championship. Since I can tell everyone is dying to know, Nebraska won.

I always thought Miami was overrated in hockey. That game certainly proved it.

Notre Dame's facilities aren't even up to par for a club team. They are building a new place but their current setup in the Joyce Center is awful.

That was an awesome finish to regulation last night. It's just too bad the game winning goal was a deflection. There is nothing in sports quite like championship hocky (either NHL Playoffs, or Frozen 4). The intensity is there from start to finish. I couldn't have cared less for either of those teams last night, but I couldn't stop watching.

The game last night was increadible. It's really a shame that Miami lost though, especially on a deflection like that. Miami played better for about 3/4ths of that game- just couldnt finish it out. The college hockey tournament was a crazy one, and in my opinion much better then this years NCAA tourny. A ton of games had last second goals forcing overtime, a few going to multiple overtimes. Classic tournament

I was just told earlier tonight that ,ost of these college players dont go straight to college after high school. Most go to some amateur league or something for a few years, then go to play college? So a lot of the guys are pretty old. Anyone know?

That's exactly right. The "freshmen" are around 20 years old because many of them will play up in Canada for a couple years.
