Coming in third place, behind Colonials and The Cardinal, for worst nickname is the UMass Minutemen.
It is beyond me why they would pick such an embarrassing name. It is a shame they collectively have this problem, but it seems like something they should keep personal.
Xavier should be able to handle the Minutemen. It looks like they peaked a little early.

I thought UMass fans wanted to come on here and talk smack. This one's a fat pitch over the plate for them.

Xavier is the bastion of freedom and decency.
UMass is the home of male sexual dysfunction.

UMass has played well only in very short spurts, climaxing early with their win at Kansas.
(One of the best features of this board is that last season's posts do not get purged during the off-season.)

Great minds think alike Amex. I used the same name in the Predict The Score thread before even seeing this one.

Someone please rep AmeX for me; I apparently don't spread enough rep around the board. Please don't make me have to rep UC posters before I can get to him again.

I don't understand why a minute's considered "premature."

It definitely looked like UMass peaked early this year - starting 7-0 then losing 5 of 6 - but they got it up again to knock off Dayton. Still, questions remain about their stamina to win at Xavier.

I hate to point it out to you, but the French Musketeers served a monarchy...not exactly your free-est of societies...

Umass usually begins the game with high energy and excitement and tries to finish strong, unfortunately they usually just take the air out of the ball and lull everyone to sleep by the start of the second half.

Last time for quick performance from the Minutemen. Enjoy it, briefly.
(need to come up with new material heading to Big East - been easy recycling the A-10)
