CBSSports reports on Patrick Chambers being announced as Boston University's new head men's basketball coach. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/story/11608223
Patrick Chambers was introduced Wednesday as the new coach at Boston University, where he's hoping to quickly raise the stature of the mid-major program.
"We want to be Xavier. We want to be Gonzaga of the Northeast. That's our vision," said Chambers, a former Villanova associate head coach.
"People want to be Xavier, but very few want to have the commitment that Xavier has to our program across the board. I don't know if that's necessarily understood."

It's kinda funny really. We put coaches like Thad and Sean on pedestals and want them canonized. Then they do the very same thing that 99.999% of us would do --- take huge raises to accept a job at a higher profile school in a higher profile league --- and we want them cast into hell for all eternity.
At least that's what it sounds like by our name-calling of these erstwhile idols of ours, turning them into "Beak-nose," "Smoker's Cough," and now, "Coon Face." We sound like a bunch of 7 year-old kids on a playground bad-mouthing one of our (former) friends because he had to take his ball and go home to leave for vacation.
Others (like me) are not much better than some of you who've used these less-than-kind nicknames for our two most recent (and most successful) coaches since our initial reactions weren't too kind either. The difference is that we didn't post them for posterity. In these situations, it's always best to allow ourselves a cooling-down period and acquire a bit more objective outlook on the situation.

Cooling down period or not I don't think anyone will be held to any statements in the last week. It is an emotional time. A year from now I think we all look at this differently. When Mack takes us to the Final Four we will all agree that Miller couldn't have left at a better time.

Nice post nick. I'll just add this...
I hope we don't continue to add to the names or comments of other teams and former coaches like I've been seeing over the last five to seven years. We are better then that.

There's truth to this. However, I think it's Sean who took his ball and went home.
